Lots of love for the MBO 13". I went to Best Buy and played with one. I liked the general overall feel. Time to internet shop.

FWIW, I've purchased 3 Sony laptops the last 10 years, and all of which have been built like tanks (unlike some Dells and Toshibas that I also had owned). Never an issue. Only reason for replacement was for processor upgrades (and 2 of which I owned simultaneously -- a 17" for gaming/multimedia, a 10" for travel). Granted Sony's tend to be a little overpriced (but definitely not as overpriced as Macbooks), but I would usually get them on sale. Plus, I like their monitors.

My Sony was horribly built. I like Lenovo's but from all the feedback that I am getting from you all and the reviews I am reading, the MBP 13" is just the best all around laptop for day to day use.

Turns out its bullshit. The security software they were using associated any file with a prefix of, I believe it was "SL", was associated with a malicious key logging program. The samsung has a file that has the same prefix but has nothing to do with a keylogger. |

I would rather get the Z series.. Lighter, thinner, more portable, faster, etc
I know Amazon was selling the Macbook Pro with a last generation CPU, 5400RPM HD, & integrated video card for $1100+.. You can easily get those specs for half the cost on a PC.. And this is coming from a guy who owns every generation of iPhone and ipods. Not to mention ipad2.. |

MBP hands down. My gf bought this computer the day after it came out. It's a beast.

I've had a MBP for 2.5 years now and it still works like a champ, almost looks brand new too save for a few scuffs.

I bought the 13" unibody aluminum MB (now MBP) few weeks after it was released (~3 yo).
Besides the battery swelling and needing replacement and a usb port which stopped working it's fine. GET APPLECARE!!! eBay for ~$50 and extends warranty by 3 years. I'm regretting not getting it x3952, it would have paid for itself just due to the battery. Edit: I used windows on it since day one and only made the switch to mac os 2 weeks ago. When apple started using intel, you could now just format the HD in NTFS and install windows as if it was any other computer. Windows drivers even come with it on the 2nd cd. Or you can be smart and partition the HD so you can have both Mac and Windows. |
