Honda Fit is excellent choice, my girlfriend has one and i drive it all the time, very sporty handling indeed for a tiny car, good steering feedback (even compared to my bimmer), a lot of go with that tiny vtec engine, high grade interior materials (acura grade), crazy good on gas (around 40mpg)
im planning to get one in a few years after i graduate from university for a cheap commuter car to go to and from work and keep the bimmer for other fun stuff, hopefully they will stay make the car by then...

Sorry to hear that Matt! I really like the setup of your car too...
How about the VW GTI? Is that too high price wise? If so, then perhaps I would suggest a used BMW or Audi. Since you are a tech...you can probably work wonders....I would think a good used E46...be it a 2002 - 2003 325i...shouldn't be too pricey, no? |

Go through the used car route if you still desire some sort of car with feedback...it may use more gas matt, but think about the stress relief with lets say an e30 or e36 M3 in mountain twisties on the weekend...But thats a real bummer matt, i feel for you. Listen, next time you come down to miami for anything, you can drive my car! haha, i dunno why i didn't let you drive my car when you were here, guess it never came to my mind!

Matt, that sucks. Sorry to hear about your misfortune dude.
I vote for either a VW, Honda, used Bimmer or used Scoobie.

if you're a BMW does that mean you can only work at BMW?? CUs if not you should go work at Toyota. I think they get pay like $30 an hour. I can probably hook u up with a job at Toyota.

Sorry to hear.
Go for mini cooper s. Get fully loaded used one. It won't hurts you as much as 2006 brand new BMW.

if you really must get rid of the e90, the fit is nice for what it is. civic coupes are cool and so are mazda 3's.

whats your budget? without knowing im going to say you should get an evo 8 or a e36 m3. i know those def arent going to be the most economical cars ever but youre going to hate life driving a car that does 0-60 in more than 10 tics and makes you fall asleep in the twisties. you should be able to get a e36 m3 with decent miles for about 17000 and since your a bmw tech it should be perfect
EDIT: never knew used s2000's went for as cheap as they do, they should be on the list as well |

Sorry to hear that. Perhaps you could consider moving up north and see
if Stevens Creek BMW has something for you. Huge dealer and if I remember correctly they were first in the country last year in sales. People working for them can lease any BMW except M cars for $300 (I've been told). Perhaps it's worth looking into. As far as a replacement car, I would go for a Mazda 3 myself. |
