I was into before it was cool lol....and when it was really expensive.

I had a Tippmann which was a great brand...it looks like they have come down in quality as I recently saw one at a sporting good store for 200.00 or so. I bought mine in 1993 or so, used for 270.00...hopefully quality is still good and competition drive te prices down.

Personally I use planet eclipse and own a relatively rare fully tricked blue camo etek ego. You can get the etek 1 or 2 for less than 300. Regular ego and all the special edition ones is like 800-1400. Then get a good hopper, a nice 4500 peanut tank, harness, pods, a decent mask like a dye i4 or an empire e-vents. You'll be golden.

Yes, it would totally make sense to purchase that marker while only planning on playing woods ball 1-3 times a year.

That's like saying i never understood why people take their daily drivers to the track... if i were still tracking i would get the V8 Ariel Atom.

My guess is that you missed the part about the budget he set for his purchase. $300 or less is what he's willing to spend.

I was really into it, spent over 2k on gear....sold it all and spend money on my car now instead.
I highly recommend a prtoto slg as a beginners markers, its pretty cheap too and shoots great.

Jt flex mask or dye. Ego 11, rotor, 68/4500, some good cleats if you're playing outside. A good pod pack.

Maybe start with a used ego 08 or sl8ter.
