Butler is gone, chandler isn't going anywhere unless there's some sort of strange 11th hour power play by Cuban.

I love my team to death (Celtics) but I think this year would be the last one they're going to be able to make a run for it. My team is getting old

Any team besides the Heat
If Chandler stays, give me Dallas again. If he leaves, da Bulls.

Looks like Chandler won't be staying, according to JJ Barrea. They aren't even resigning Barrea either..

hmm that's interesting. cuban must have something up his sleeve. i just can't see him getting rid of key pieces to his championship roster (especially with dirk maybe having 3-4 more good years left) on purpose. seems like a hell of a time to blow a team up and rebuild. i expect to see some sort of dark horse move unless they resign chandler in the 11th hour.

The same article does say that the Mavs might want to save cap space for next year to get a super star like Howard.

if he's even around in 2012. the whispers around town is for a big move in 2012 involving deron williams, which he's at least expressed interest, but only if he had a superstar big man like dwight howard to play with. i just don't like the chances of literally mortgaging the entire team on speculative moves. not how i want to see things shake out as a mavericks season ticket holder.

If Chandler leaves, I think they are screwed. Chandler was a beast in the paint.

Sources are saying they won't be signing JJ, Butler, Chandler, Stevenson.

well all the others (barea, butler, and stevenson) were expected. this fiasco with chandler is starting to get ridiculous though. i personally think chandler is our best option right now and next year. i would love to see dirk, dwight, and DWill in a mavs uniform in 2012, but i just don't think it will happen.

Don't know what Mavs are thinking. Why would they change the chemistry of the team that just won a championship..

well there are a couple big reasons...namely the new punitive luxury tax that would impose some stiff penalties if a team is over the cap for 3 of the next 4 years. i guess you can say having a 'throw away' year to eventually rebuild a younger team with multiple superstars is a smart move on the business side of things. but i don't really care what it costs mark cuban...he's fucking up big time to blow up a team that just came off a championship and devaluing my season tickets.
