Be "neighborly" and knock on her door, with some or beer if she's cute, and be honest with her about your passion and for cars and discuss mutual respect for each other's property. If she's a bitch about it then you know where you stand. If she's cool about it then you know at least one side of your car should be safe barring any accidents.

Don't leave a note... just do your best to catch the driver.
Assuming it's a girl: Then 1)thank her for being such a good driver/person and not hitting your car, 2) ask her very nicely if she doesn't mind parking a little further away from your vehicle and just screw the other person over, and 3) if she's hot, then finally ask her if she wants to go for a ride and have some fun. Done deal. If it's a dude, then: 1) tell him he's a retard, but at least he didn't hit your ride yet, 2) to get his shitty car away from your M3, and 3) tell him you're going for a ride in a real man's car. JK to ALL!!! Nah, just talk to the dude bro... maybe you'll find out that he really likes your ride and has done his best not to ever hit it. Good dude in my book. GOOD LUCK! |

Can you park closer to the pillar side leaving more space on his/her side? And what about covering you car with a nice thick cover? It would send a message about how much you care plus give you some ding protection. I covered my cars for years and once you get used to it, it's quick and easy. Good luck. |

OP dont leave a note. for the last 6 months she is able to open her door without banging yours and leaving a mark... I am sure she is aware how anal you are so dont stress it... My neighbor is the same thing.... but they know im anal and they respect that... i think your just being a freak.... if you really hate it... park somewhere else.. sounds like you dont have a house and your own parking like me... so i learn to live with it...

Learn to relax. Stressing over what could happen is a waste of time. As others have mentioned, trying to resolve this possible future problem could create a real problem now.

I think she is parking close to you b/c she knows you would be careful with both your cars (like she's been). Maybe she wants to be away from the old Camry/Explorer next to her (personal experience).
I would try in person and focus on people as opposed to cars...very politely say it would be better for her and your passengers if she was a few more inches away. If you find another m3 in your complex, that's who you want to park next to.

Yea really, morons recommending 'buying a house' - OP lives in DC, similiar to NY, homes are very expensive, many cases, houses don't have garages....
In some cases, parking spots for these condos are worth $100-150,000. It's no joke. |

My two cents - if she hasn't dinged your car yet, she probably won't in the future. She already takes care to not ding your car - leave well enough alone.
I am surprised this hasn't been brought up yet, remember the subject matter: you are dealing with a lady here. A woman. Someone from Venous while we (most of us on this board anyway) are from Mars. From professional experience I can tell you that even though you think you are having a reasonable and rational conversation what she perceives the conversation to be is all that matters. And what she perceives can be 1 million miles off the mark of what you intended. At most, I would heed the advice of one gentleman here who even though referred to the fairer sex as "bitches," was actually right on the spot. If you run into her thank her profusely for not dinging your car, hell, buy her flowers. I would not say it is manipulation, but it works. And you know what they say about flies and honey... Count your blessings that she already is not their for 1/4 of the time and when she is there takes care not to ding your car. Doing anything else is playing with fire.

Plus, he's alpine white, I'm blue -- if we frak up, we'll see the color dings to know it! Maybe you can find two of those 1980's style door-frame-rubber-bumper strips and sneak them onto her doors? .

also back to the OP– I for sure agree with some of the other comments that its best not to do or say anything. Saying anything with make a situation out of nothing.. and that has been nothing since you both parked there. (although likely annoying and never-racking) If something happens, atleast you'll know who to come talk to quite quickly.

As a couple of others have wisely pointed out, she's been parking like this for months and there's no damage. This is not by accident but because she's taking care to not hit your car (and expects the same.)
There's virtually NO REASON to speak to her face-to-face or with a note. The absolute best outcome would be what you're already experiencing and there's too many ways it could go sideways if you do bring this up. Just let it go - no need to worry about something negative that could happen that hasn't after many data points already. |

put some kind of object on the ground, like a rock; that way she maneuver around it, and park away from you. Hey I'm thinking here for you.

rent a car and park in such a way that there is no possible way for her to get into her car through the driver's side door. Do that a few times.
