I just found out this one guy I work with (we do the same job) is getting paid 50% more than me because my company likes to screw internal hires. The guy has slightly more experience, but was unemployed for a year after being fired from his previous job because he lost a bunch of money (we're energy traders). I've been with this company since graduating (over 5 years). I knew I was getting the shaft, but I didn't think it was that much! I'm so pissed right now.

Gym didn't help... Next up, unloading my 9 at the range.

When I am pissed, I step back and put my attitude/state of mind into perspective. You're a whiny bitch if you think your life sucks. I work in a cancer hospital and I see young people die everyday and all what they want is to be with their family and kids even for few more hours to say goodbye and sometimes they can't even do that. When I get pissed about anything the I think of that and I realize how lucky I am to be at least healthy. Nothing worth a minute of agony in this life.

Go for a drive, smoke a what have you, target shooting or watch a good movie. By far though a good movie even if I've already seen it many many times it is the best escapism for me.

Not a whole lot, since not much makes me REALLY that angry. I deal with stupid people/stupid situations on a daily basis, so I think I'm becoming so used to it that I don't even care anymore.

But, if something actually does get to me, usually my drive home with some tunes makes it all better... Then I take the dogs for a run and I'm 100% better. Pets really do help lower your stress.

assuming you guys are pnl bonus based....

who cares? salary is worthless.... now if you got shafted on a bonus.... different story


worse come worse, move to a new firm... everyone is looking for good traders....

I buy car parts. ha. The gym helps, talking with friends and family, drinking (doesnt help in the long run though), and finding positives to concentrate on. Its easy to be negative but focus on the positives in your life and move on. I also tell people I work with, when they complain about work: "Walmart is always hiring..." Id rather suffer through this, then work in that hell hole. ha
