Yeah a Procede 335i will take a stock Evo but modded vs. modded the 335i don't really stand a chance unless you dump ~6k into it. |

Racing from a roll an evo would lose unless it is putting down more whp. YOu can easy get 400 whp with an evo. The engine is very strong too. I don't know why you guys compare this car to all these other cars. Put 5 grand into an evo and a 335i will not even come close, even with the new version 2 coming out for procede. Then again guys, would you rather have the evo or bmw, obviously bmw. Potential wise, and if you have some money to spend. I see the twin turbo engine being very modifiable. It is going to cost alot, but german cars are more expensive then japanese cars when it comes to modifying.

We have quite a few modded evo's running around here. What I don't get is people with chipped 335s that want to go tango-ing around with Evo's that are obviously not just chipped. They're no joke. No joke at all.
Chris aka superman makes a good point. A great one actually. I'm not sure i'd rather have my 335i. It's just the more practical choice. I'd love to be carefree enough to just buy an evo to drive like I stole.

Typically you get a good 110mph trap speed with just a 3"TB,MBC and a tune. At this point I am not sure if you are in denial or just don't know but I suggest you go and read more forums like evolutionm.net, I think you are missinformed. As far is a BMW 335i and a Evo, I think they are dead close. On paper they trap similar speeds stock. |

he had to have some real work done on his car. i have raced an moded evo 8 and took it all but one pull where i lost traction. we did from a stop, rolling, and from moving freeway speeds. i have also taken evo 9's. they all seemed shocked. but if they can drive they will have more fun in the twisties.

You are either trolling here or hilariously ignorant. Either is unwanted.

evo with green turbo or nething runnig race gas or meth will most likely pull from a 335 with procede or ne piggyback out on the market today. Not bashing 335, i am planning on trading in my evo green car for a 335 myself. Just stating facts when it comes to modding an evo.

I think 10K more for a 335i is a very good investment from 38k EVO MR!

yeah you tell em ward! seriously though, the bimmers are great cars when it comes to handling but those evos and their AWD + things like SYC make up for a lot of stupid people's mistakes

Brand spankin new IX MR's can be had for $32k. New IX SE's, which are better than the MR actualy can be had for $28-29k. Performance wise the 335i is no where near worth $20k extra. Honestly, Performance per $, there's nothing that can touch an Evo. The BMW is of course much more refined, more comfy, just a nicer car all together.

And an RS can be had for mid twenties new. Anyone who would try to argue that the 335i is a better bang for your buck car performance wise is an idiot. |

there are a lot of ignorant comments in this thread.
not a lot of enthusiasts by the looks of it. first off, evos and 335s are totally different cars. evos are more of a out of the box track ready, ready to tune, bang for the buck kind of car. 335s have a much nicer interior, driveability, and still quite fast. now for bang for the buck, i would say the evo would have to win. not by any bias though. i have put in about 1500 into my evo consisting of an exhaust, intake, boost controller, and tune. and i'm running 12.0-12.1, almost breaking 11 seconds. i'm sure if i had straight pipes i would break the 11 second mark. this also discredits the people saying, its impossible for an evo to beat a 335. top end, i'm sure the 335 would start to walk on an evo but as mentioned above look at both engines. ones a 3 liter with 2 small turbos, another is a 2 liter with 1 medium turbo. that 1.0 liter makes a big difference. all in all, both cars are great. i'm sure within a few months, the 335 will be hitting low 12's with minimal mods as well, but the comments stating that the 335 will destroy an evo are misinforming. |

Because I'll tell you an Evo owner's version of modded and most BMW owners are two totally different things. They don't really count things like painted reflectors and tint as mods generally. I would consider my Evo to be lightly modded with just a catless turbo back, cams, supporting mods and a tune. Even with just that it is a good bit quicker than my stock 335 up to @120mph. From a standing start...forget about it. From a roll I might see it if they weren't in boost right off the start. Either those guys you ran had crap mods that actually make the car run worse or they couldn't drive a nail into sand. You can't deny the Evo is awesome bang for the buck and unbelievably quick when done right. However I'd rather have my 335 than Evo. It's the more complete car.
