I think some people on this people need to stop drinking the soup BMW feeds them and get out check other cars for themselves. MB C300 is going to give 328 run for its money which is good for us since BMW will hopefully step with pricing, options, and reliability. |

Personally I have driven both ... If I personally was looking to buy the C300 or the 328i I would buy the C300 ...just because it was the 335i's motor that sold me on buying a BMW. With the 328i you dont get the balls of the 335i and if your looking for something nice and comfy to roll around in the C300 I personally think does it better then the 328i.
Now with that being said ... if you in the market to lease ... your going to get raped on the C300 ... lease rates are going to be awful so your better off just buying it. If you dont want to buy and your only looking to lease then the 328i will be the better of the two. ________ Ford torino talladega ________ Zx14 Vs Hayabusa ________ Kitchen Measures ________ Marijuana Card ________ California dispensary Last edited by Vegas_Sirk; 09-19-2011 at 10:35 AM.. |

MBs don't come in manual (for the most part), have zero feedback through the steering wheel, don't have the precise steering that BMWs have, and all feel a lot larger than they are. That is my experience and my opinion. That is why they are not cars that are normally chosen by people who LIKE to DRIVE (as I said in my original post). People who are on these forums and writer professionally tend to like to drive, and that is why BMWs tend to get the nod over MBs. If you like to mash the gas pedal and go and do it in ultimate comfort, get an AMG MB. If you like to DRIVE, get a BMW.

I agree, I havent driven a single MB that felt "good" Even AMG models, a little stiffer, more power, same feel. MB's are not drivers cars, there's not a single production MB that has a proper manual. Hell the only MB's I would own are the SL55, and CLK63 Black Series. IMO MB's are all about luxury and comfortable cruising. There not bad cars, just not my taste. Plus they look older than they should, if I didn't know any better you could tell me an 07' was a 99' and I wouldn't argue.
The CLK63 BS is the only production MB to be built completely by AMG, it still doesn't come with a manual. According to the R&T review, it's a street car, still not worthy of track use. How many BMW's are track worthy right out of the box? They're just different cars, it depends what you want out of your car. Decide how you'll use it, and make your decision. |

First off, I really don't see how the old C-class looks better than the new...I think the new (sport) model is pretty good looking (especially the front).
Yes, MBs are disconnected RELATIVE to BMWs, but they are not disconnected and mushy and boats on the broad scale of cars. They still have steering accuracy and handling that is well above the norm. By the way, reviews seem to suggest that the C63 is unlike any AMG before, in that it actually handles and has steering feel like a performance car should (but still said not up to par with M3), and that there is a balance between engine and handling (unlike previous models where the engine took over everything).

buy the car you really want no matter what others say, will say or said. you'll be the one driving it, not them! if you think the c300 is gonna make you happy, then by all means go for it!! my suggestion is to test drive both first and then go on from there

I think the front of the C300 looks really nice.. like a mini S class.. with its lower price and cushy ride, i bet we'll see quite a few of these on the road.
I see so many E90, E92's in my neighborhood, it's kind of boring |

I haven't driven the new C, but I know BMW is much, much better.
Just kidding. I haven't driven it, but I'll keep an open mind. I was looking at the C350 before buying my car. I'm looking forward to putting the new C-class through its paces at the MB driving event in DC next month. FWIW, I liked the previous C-class headlight styling better, and the giant Texas belt buckle MB grill on the new C's sport version looks ugly to me. Also, I have a strong preference for MT. All strikes against the new C. On the plus side, I like the styling otherwise and the interior looks great.

IMO
Looks - advantage benz - It's basically a mini S class Price w/options - advantage benz (I was totally surprised by this; a C350 with prem package 2, audio pkg w/navi, panorama roof, and AMG wheels can be had for just about $43k MSRP) Performance - advantage BMW (even the 328's engine is much more responsive than Benz's 3.5 liter) Cost of Ownership - advantage BMW (gotta love the free maintenance) I'm still leaning towards an E90, but if Benz ever goes back to offering free maintenance, it's gonna be a close call between the 335i and the C350 - flame suit on - )

the C class still doesnt handle as well... i drove my friend's new c350... and he even said that his e90 (he crashed it) was more responsive, handled better, and the steering wheel was stiffer (i don't want to go full circles to just turn).

I saw the C300 recently at the dealership where i used to take my C (which i sold to get the 3) for (very very frequent) service. I have to say its not bad looking but the interior is nowhere as nice as my 330. Its only comes in black or grey in the sport version and there is too much hard plastics.

Get Mercedes if you don't care about handling at all.

Have you driven the new c-class? I did, and the handling was razor sharp. Excellent turn in and not too much roll. They definitely improved it. Styling aside, it was actually a decent car to drive.
Your comment might as well read "Get a BMW if you plan to use the warranty".
