I cant bevlieve you were actually yelling at an old lady. I would probobly express my disatisfaction/frustration, but you need to fucking check yourself before you yell at an old lady man.

People make mistakes. Mabey I was just brought up differently.

I know how you feel....back in January my 330 was hit from behind while stopped at a traffic light. The other car was going about 5mph and put a slight crease in the bumper. The person who hit me originally wanted to pay me directly, but in the end chose to go through insurance. It cost their insurance company $545 to repair and repaint the rear bumper at a BMW dealer, plus the cost for a rental car for 3 days.

I was pleased with the result and the color match was perfect.

6. I was screaming at her for the first 10/15 minutes after it happend.

that is sickening about the "gum job" lol but i cant stop laughing

I'm the guy at my Center who deals with this kind of stuff on a daily basis, this is what I do all day long.

IF it's just scrapes you should be in the $500ish range to fix that bumper... If you have a screw/mounting plates poking through I'd say forget reforming it and get a new bumper

Luckily E9X front bumpers are reasonably cheap and you should be in the 950-1050 range for a new one painted and installed.

Go with the best/most highly recommended body shop you can find. You wouldn't believe how many cars that I send to my body shops I use to fix some inferior body repairs.

Oh and PM me if you have questions. Like I said, this is my job.

why did you remove the pic of the old lady, how can i tell if she deserved a kick in the junk without it?

ok that was wrong but in all seriousness, show some respect to your elders. she didnt mean to run in to your car, she's old and shit happens. the car can be fixed. for those saying there should be a drivers test after 65, im with ya but try for a moment to realize how difficult giving up your car/freedom would be. i'm guessing most of you couldn't imagine what that'd be like. compassion people...compassion.

That's not bad. I saw a e92 328i whose rear door was bent in and scratched while sporting a dealer plate.

Don't really bother just keep the cash.

Don't repaint, take the cash and wait for the inevitable rock chips to eat into your bumper then replace it with one you fancy.

BTW: Teenagers are far worse and riskier drivers. I remember when I got my license, and was lucky not to have caused a fatal accident so many times. I mean old folks are not so good, but their screw ups (with exception of the few really bad ones) tend to be relatively minor fender benders. They don't feel that the car hit something as their senses are numbed by age. I guess we'll all get there some day. Teenagers on the other hand cause horrendous accidents mostly due to really bad judgment. Especially if another teenager is in the car.

Dude, sorry about your car but you really shouldnt scream to someone that is nice and takes full responsibility. Aspecially to an old lady. I'm pretty sure she feels awful even without you screaming at her. This stuff happens, and even to younger people! As long as someone takes responsibility and pays for it, no need to be an asshole. She is not evil just because she hit your car.. There are lots of real evil people out there to be mad on.

I doubt the lady was really that old. I understand where some of you guys are getting at with the yelling at old people comment. I'll tell you one thing.. I've been yelled at by so many old ladies for no reason at all while walking my bulldog so I would have vented my frustration as well. I wouldn't have cursed her out or anything, but you can be damn sure she would have known I was upset, which I have all the right in the world to be. I'm pretty sure if it was the other way around and the lady's car got hit it would have been an interesting conversation.

OK let me put it in the most simplest terms to those who oppose screaming:

I really do not care if the person was old/young/down syndrome; you hit my f*cking car, I'm going to loose my temper. Plain and simple.

I really want to see all of your reactions when you are looking at your car bieng hit. For the people who bend over and hand the other party some vaseline, well thats you. I on the other hand don't like when my car is bieng fucked with and at that moment, YES, I did loose my control. Please pardon my initial reaction.

Yes, me and her came to terms. Yes, she was polite afterwards. Yes, I gained my composure. But this was all after the first 10 minutes of arguing/screaming, for the remainder of the time that we were there, me and her just hung out and talked. She was very nice. If you want her # for a sweet time, I will gladly give it to you.

Sorry about your bad luck. Good thing you were there when it happened and you can possibly recover the expense of getting it repaired. I'm sure if you had arrived 5 minutes later, the culprit would have fled the scene and we would have been able to hear your ranting and raving all the way out on Long Island.

A similar scenario happened a few weeks ago to my wife's car, but she did not see who did it. She also got quite hot under the collar but I was uncharacteristically calm and cool. OTOH, it was her bumper that got scratched, not mine.
