I feel like if BMW put the i3 drivetrain in this vehicle it would be a winning combo. But instead we have the low center of gravity, RWD, torquey drivetrain in the ugly car, and the failboat FWD drivetrain in a pretty good looking hatchback-y car.

Damn - like Honda after the 90's, BMW is losing its way. Single f*cking tear...

I like the exterior really a lot!!!! it is an fantastic looking crossover!!
And yes we know, some guys from the US will say that nobody will buy that car, but you have to consider that some other guys would do it! For example in Europe a lot of people love those Vans and will buy it!!! |

It still looks like a BMW and that's good, overall it has a sporty stance even if it's a mini van... And i must admit that i like it a lot more that the current X1,1er, 5gt and 3gt. I've seen the previous concept at the Welt in december and it looked better that expected in real life.
Still, i wont ever buy a car like that, if i would need more space i'll buy an f31! BTW here in Europe Mercedes sold thousands of B-class and old A-class, and at the moment those cars are the best sellers Merc here in Italy for what i know. BMW wants to bring the competition on that market because they know that they will sell a lot.

I don't think that looks bad for a minivan.

If he's switched to Audi, why does he keep tabs on what BMW's doing? Feelin' a little home sick?

The colour is a hazard; it blinds the onlookers.
20 inch wheels? why don't they show the standard 16inch version??? And the shoes of that guy (model) are horrendous. |

Cool down...
Maybe in the US BMW is about the Ms and Xs. I had 3series and 5series, than the kids came and now... I drive a Ford SMax as this is for me the - sorry - ultimate sporty family van. Which car is out there for Drivers (Fathers) who have to combine a sport with a family car and don't want to struggle all the time with the seat-belts for the kids due to narrow interior cars. There's a huge group of customers out there waiting for the right offer (that's why e.g. the 3GT is the right thing). I don't see the Active Tourer in the line of the other BMWs (which are still there). Its broadening the product offering for families. The only down side on this: This ActiveTourer is small! In my SMax I've 5 full seats + 3rd row (where adults do fit!). This is what I want. ActiveTourer based on strechted 3series platform, rear wheel and xdrive + engine above 200hp (my SMax has about 250hp). |

Although I hate the idea of BMW FWD, but this car looks good compared to others in the same segment.
