You know I almost bought that model myself! I looked in some older "BMW Miniaturen" model car brochures that I have here. Those two race truck(LKW) and race car(batmobile) were not listed. Maybe on my next trip to the Welt - I will ask the good people at the BMW Shop.

The difference is the Green/silver striped Polizei cars are Bayerische while the Blue/silver striped cars are Federal(Bundes Polizei)which have lic plates that start with "BP".

The Bavarian are very proud of their green and silver cars and the green Bavarian uniform. Just last week the newly formed government of Merkel(GroCol) want the Bavarians Polizei to switch over to the new blue uniforms(and cars I presume). But the Polizei unions are fighting it - so for now they will take a year to make a test with 700 Polizei to see how the new blue uniforms hold up.

Bavaria is kind of special in that they are still independent of the other 17 parts(states) of Germany. There is a reason why they call it FreiStadt Bayern - bc they have their own rules.

Germany doesn't have county cops or sheriffs. We only two types of cops: local "land" Polizei or Federal Polizei(Bundes Polizei).

In some rather large cities like Hamburg, Frankfurt or Berlin they also have StadtPolizei - but most areas don't have those.

In some large cities they also use Police "helpers" which don't carry guns but they deal with the little BS crap like kids leutering, cars parked illegally and people who aren't following the "rules". Like dumping trash in the wrong area, playing loud music at night or cutting the grass after 8pm, all sorts of rules we have over here.

These "helpers" are called Ordnungspolizei (or the order police!) or sometimes also called: Ordnungsamt meaning Code enforcement.

The other day I was at the Welt and bought that transporter truck(LKW) with the ramps and the 3.5CSL race car. Both are sold separately.

When I went back to the Welt's gift shop they did not have the LKW transporter... but then I remembered to look in the BMW Museum gift shop across the street!
