Maybe he's worried about losing his record and coming in 3rd for once?
2013 - He Won 2012 - He Won 2011 - Stoner won, JL was second 2010 - He Won 2009 - Rossi Won, JL was second In 2008 he crashed and didn't race. He could also be worred about his brakes and a clutch-less downshift solution: “Two years ago I started asking Yamaha to try to work on the downshift without [using] the clutch, because Honda have it, and some other brands have it,” said Lorenzo. “Yamaha worked very hard but at the beginning of this season, although I'd asked for it, it was worse for me than the normal clutch system" "I don't think we've arrived at our best level yet. Some people said at Mugello we arrived at the best level but I think we still have some margin to improve. I don't think we've arrived at our best level yet. Some people said at Mugello we arrived at the best level but I think we still have some margin to improve." He has a tough weekend ahead of him, having to fight with both Marc AND Rossi lol - I bet I'd have my serious face on too <----- That's my serious face |

Brembo Brake Report:
Difficulty for the braking system: HARD <<<---------------------------------------------------------------------->>> It is considered a very technical track with abrupt braking which stress the brakes considerably. The first brake after the finishing line at the end of a very long straight stretch where the motorcycles are involved in one of the most difficult cut off of the World Championship, must be pointed out in particular. The major criticalities for the braking system derive precisely because of the difficulty in cooling the brakes. The cut outs, all decisive and very close together, determine very high operating temperatures for the discs and brake pads which cannot cool sufficiently in the mixed part of the track. |

This is a cool MotoGP video from BMW
Obviously the safety cars are BMWs but they have other things going on at these MotoGP events as well such as the guided pit-lane tour and the BMW M Safety Car Laps or a visit to Safety Control with BMW M MotoGP™ expert Loris Capirossi, as well as a visit to a selected team and introduction to MotoGP™ action. In fact, here is the BMW MotoGP experience PDF: http://www.bmw-motorsport.com/dam/bm...8357162996.pdf and their website: http://www.bmw-motorsport.com/en/fan...in-motogp.html Last edited by 954Stealth; 06-13-2014 at 09:03 AM.. |

News clipping:
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> The Catalunya GP could be a wet affair on Sunday, the probability of precipitation is high. The same is also true for the temperatures, which is why Valentino Rossi feared half-half-race where the driver in the middle need to change the motorcycle. "We have seen that it can rain, but the temperature is high, so you do not have full rain situation and you can go very fast anyway," he said. Not only he, but many other drivers would therefore prefer a dry race. "It is indeed a long time ago that we went the last time in the rain. That was last year at Motegi in qualifying." The last wet race took place in 2013 at Le Mans instead. "We must see if we can still drive in the wet once," said Rossi. <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< |

I feel like I'm having a conversation with myself here lol
Here's a Marc quote from today about his style and the high rumble strip curbs. In fact if you look at the rankings above you'll see he didn't do quite so well, finishing a few spots down the roster: "Here, it is so difficult with the high kerbs and for me when I am so close to the kerb, you need to close your elbow and I don't like – but for everybody it's the same and you have to manage and you try to change your riding style,” he went on to say; "I need to push a little bit more and I'm prepared to work a bit more with the bike. In the first session I found things a little difficult, but in the second session we improved and this has led to us having a clear direction to go in tomorrow. I think this is the most important thing to take from today.” |
