Getty Images invited me to join them this week and I decided to do it after talking to several Flickr-friends that have been with Getty a while. At this point in my career (photography and real-life risk management) I don't really have any time or desire to spend a lot of effort in marketing my images. My friends with good portfolios are making between $100 and $800 per month from their Getty portfolios after two or three years of "seasoning."
Not all my invited pictures are up yet because several are still under final review by Getty. The amount charged varies with the size of the image ordered. The gross is as little as $10 of a small internet size and, so far, as much as $700 for a large 300dpi file. MINIMUM file size is 3MB. The larger the file the higher your potential. (Keep all your good RAW files in case you want to do this later and want to create highest quality jpegs). Here's one they liked. They've got tons of coyote shots already, but the seem attracted to my snow shots: Coyote slinking by dcstep, on Flickr Here's how it's presented at Getty in the searchable database: http://www.gettyimages.com/detail/12...s_flickr_photo If you want to see my other stuff, just do an Advanced Search and search for David C Stephens under Photographer. Anyone else here using Getty Images? Dave

This is either your next tank of gas or some cow's dinner. Bushels and bushels of corn.
