Highs in the 70s this week. Lows in the 50s. Nice fall weather for Southern California.

The highs here made it into the low 60's F with mostly sun today. I was outside in short sleeves this afternoon, rearranging some cabling in the headliner of the getting mightier Freightliner. Happily, none of the trim pieces snapped from being too cold.

After I had put everything back together and was patting myself on the back for a job well done, I realized that I probably should have pulled wires to power a future-purchase dash camera while I had everything opened up.....

It has been windy and mild the last couple days. This afternoon we are getting a nice November thunderstorm. The skies got dark around 2pm and I had to second guess it wasn't from daylight savings.

Wifey and I just came back from an after dinner walk. We were able to wear short sleeves and Wifey had her sandals on. A week ago on Halloween it was around 30F with a howling wind. Bizarre weather.

We had a great start this morning, once the rain stop around 08:00 we hit 10°C (50°F) but right now we are down to 1°C (33.8°F) and we are going down to -3°C (26.6°F) overnight

This reminds me of our two decades in New Hampshire; at 45° North, it gets dark and can get cold early in the fall.

That and dealing as oldsters with wet winter snowfall on a rural property are among the reasons we left NH for Southwest Ohio. Here we're now on the far Western side of the Eastern Time Zone and have 45 minutes more light each afternoon. For us, that and the increased daylight hours from living 260 miles south of our NH residence has been a major improvement in our experience of when the sun rises and when it sets from mid-fall to mid-winter.

Funny thing, though: five years after moving here, the winters started feeling as short as they had in Northern New England. No wonder most New Englanders keep it simple and just move to Florida!

Expecting some freezing rain this afternoon/evening. Only about 2-3mm... half hour drive north is expecting 10mm.

It should be a non event but still a slow drive home. We haven't had anything to wake up the drivers on the roads yet this season.
