I walked in last night and there actually WAS a dj playing. She set up her speaker right next to the scale too. After losing my hearing while checking my weight, I went out to the pool and missed the production. . .

I started going to the gym again (I'm doing well, three four times a week for the last two months!) and there's this dude who storms in with his buddy and shows his muscles in front of the mirror there. Like, pulls up his T-shirt so that we all can see his nipples, starts flexin while touching his upperbody. And he does that after almost every excersise. I just had to laugh when I was there on Wednesday.
Dom Mazzetti sums it up nicely:

Golds/World. In my defense, my criteria for picking a gym has always been to pull out a map and expand the circle from my house until I hit a gym. This is just over a mile, I used to run over/back on leg days.
Wife took me to a PF when they moved into town, because that's where her sister went. We always try to keep up with her sister. Besides the obvious fact that I couldn't stand that place, I told the little woman that I would never go there because that 4 mile drive was one of the worst in the city, and I would never go. |

That's completely normal though man! Don't sweat it at all. What I do is always focus on where I'm trying to be, and I make sure to appreciate the progress that I've made over time. You are doing what basically none of society does anymore, which is take the time to invest in yourself for an improved quality of life. Don't forget that!

I went today again and I had the gym all for myself, which is just the best, lol. I'll probably have to make some changes to my diet. I've never really cared much about it other than not eating super bad shit and not stuffing myself late at night. But I feel like it's time for a change.

Gym Annoyances
I really hate ringing cell phones. The gym I go to has the cubbies for your keys, phone, jacket, etc close to the workout floor. They have a couple single showers but not a full service gym. Some idiot woman kept leaving her phone ringer on and twice last week got phone calls at 630am. Her ring was some stupid song. But what pissed ,me off was the second call on one day and the third call on the other day! She didn't turn her ringer to vibrate. AND you can hear phone say vibrating in the cubbies on occasion. A person I see at the same slot 4days a week, announced the next time she hears it ring, she'd flushing it. She walked over and switched this woman's phone to vibrate while staring at her so she got the point. I thought it was awesome because I couldn't have intimidated her like that. Epic awkward gym moment until sounds of weights slowly resumed.
I use a Costco water bottle and refill it several times during workout. DO NOT touch my water or my towel mistaking it for your own! Even someone else opening the cap voids the water. I can't drink from it. I've tried reusable water bottles but have left too many behind. I keep a case of water in my trunk to pull from while driving etc. When needing a spot for bench press and the bro dips sweat into your mouth while you're under tension!! I sweat a lot when I workout. (If I'm going to spend 90 min plus drive time, I better make it count.) So I understand sweat. But please be considerate with keeping your sweat mopped up. Racking dumbells out of order. Includes kettle bells. Singing with headphones on. Even if not loud, it bugs me. Crop dusting farts. You're not fooling anyone just cause your moving. It's kinda like forcing us to enjoy it like Obama Care. Leaving gym towels on equipment or on floor when you leave for day. Asking to work in to share bench or equipment and then not being considerate of workout pace. Please don't assume we can now spend time chatting. Manager ch the person's pace who was there first.

regarding people smelling at the gym... a little reek isn't bad but man there are some people that walk around in a fog of stink. others for sure: people talking on the phone - go outside folks. yes, singing too - stop it. |

Here's another annoyance I hadn't experience before until recently: couples.

They walk in holding hands , kiss in between sets- the grossest of all- is when they take up a lane in the pool and are cuddling and shit. The gym is my sanctuary. My girl goes to a different gym than I do, and i like it that way. Gives me a place to escape from everything

It's weird being like, the fittest person there. Everyone taking 10 minute breaks in between sets with hoodies on trying to hide their lack of muscularity, looking at me like I'm crazy during active rest smh.

24 hour fitness rant.
I've had my membership for almost 9 years now, and for the first time in those 9 years, I've strongly considered cancelling my pass. I was sitting in the sauna with my headphones on, minding my own business. Two of the workers (who I'm always friendly with everyday), came in, tapped me and said I can't wear any shoes in the sauna and I need to either get out or take em off and put em outside. Are you joking? This 24 hr Fitness is the worst maintaned facility I've ever seen and you fuckers are telling me I can't wear shoes in the sauna? Not to mention they didn't have the balls to tell two girls in there who had shoes on too. 9 fucking years and I've NEVER seen that shit. I'm just annoyed because the only other gyms semi close to my work and home are LA Fitness (ripoff) and Planet Fitness (lol) |

I wouldn't cancel it- but I'd definitely talk to the GM about why they singled you out and not the girls. Unless you have a golds gym or bigger UFC gym. Then I'd cancel in a heart beat- but definitely not for la fitness/planet fitness. You'll leave and be back

Actually there is a Gold's Gym also next door to my work, only annoying thing is that it's inside a shopping mall, and it's gonna be crazy during the holidays. Still, I'd consider it. At my old office, I loved the 24 I would go to and that one was in the mall too.

The fact their is no more "rip fuel" drink. it was a pre workout before pre workouts. if you went to the gym early 2000s you will know what im talking about. it was filled with ephedrine, a few people die becuase of a heart condition and they take it off the market.....thats darwin weeding them out. It was the shit, if the last think you wanted to do that day was lift you drank one of those sat on a stationary bike and waited 20 minutes before you know it you felt as if you could break down walls like the cool-aide man
