It's actually ground fog. The vapor trails were lifting and slowly drifting across the fields like the ghosts of soldiers. I didn't quite capture them as well as I would have liked.

When I was in the air cav I was flying in an OH-58 Kiowa with the doors off and the pilot and I saw some virga rain off in the distance. I told him it was rain and he wouldn't believe me, so he flew over and actually flew into the stream. Needless to say, we got wet. Just one small area of rain in an otherwise dry sky. The ground under the rain spout was dry. It all evaporated before hitting the ground.

Thanks. I keep waiting to see the silhouettes of Allied soldiers approaching in a crouch.

Attractive woman inline skater:
Woman inline skater enjoys evening skate by dcstep, on Flickr Canon 5D MkII, EF 70-200mm f/4L IS, EF 1.4x TC, 215mm, f/11, ISO 800, 0EV, resulting in 1/1000th second. That's 14,000-ft Long's Peak in the BG.

Not your usual detailed close-up, Dave. When was the last time you posted a picture of the northern end of a southbound deer?

7D at ISO 6400. Not noise free, but still pretty useable:
Buck in pre=dawn light by dcstep, on Flickr ISO 6400, +1EV, 500mm lens at f/4, resulting in 1/320-sec in Av mode. I don't understand the 7D's bad rap for noise. The NR applied here was DxO's preset to preserve detail.

Yeah, but most buyers for the internet wouldn't have any issues. It'd never sell as a big print.
