One thing I will say for sure, Max vs Russell is not going to be as close as Hamilton vs Russell in the same car IMO.
Certainly not with his team throwing a dice guessing if the car will or will not pass the weight check. Now with another new PU penalty down to 5 grid positions for MAX and HAM with RUS will suffer a 10 place grid soon to be coming. BTW 1.2 kilos is the weight of a full bottle of wine so 1.5 kilos was quite a bit down on the weight though being looked at as minimal.

Either way he has 7 and was a whisker away from 9. Pretty damn impressive. And his championships have been with two different teams.
9-10. Everyone knows Mercedes screwed him in 2016 with Roseberg, and 2021 AD not protesting. Give Massa his 2008 and let Lewis have the other 3 back.

It's not close when the fight it fair - See last year where HAM literally destroyed Russell. Now Merc has Rus playing cheap for a 1 up and it's still not working.

Rumours at this stage.

It seems Checo was gone but the powers that be have stepped in fearing that the Mexican GP will be a complete failure without him so Red Bull flipped their decision.

Seems strange to me.

i don't believe that.

the Mexican GP has got nothing to do with Red Bull, it's the FIA's problem.

unless Red Bull only sells drinks in Mexico.

Red Bull made the decision on their own, I don't believe it has anything to do with the FIA

as to the someone told the Verstappen family, probably the Austrians

Horner doesn't like the Austrians, he tried to buy the racing team from under their noses.

Some reasonable guessing:
"Why Red Bull has stuck with Perez – for now
Red Bull is sticking with Sergio Perez after the break. Here are the factors that prompted that decision"

CH has been saying all along that Serge needs support and shows he is in the human league while too many with hidden daggers were looking at him like just before Caesar was terminated.

With Sergio sorted for the remaining 10 races at least lets get onto the George Russell under-weight drama, come on now we're not children to know what really could be going on, so what's Wolff up to and can he be trusted with anything.

The Red Bull second seat should have a drive in it with far better skill than Checo as we all know. Putting Sainz in there would have been a great litmus test to challenge the team and Max to secure constructors.

As it is I think they will lose it and with the lack of support it's not a sure thing for Max either for the championship. Some more updates to get them back, maybe, but they are struggling and this wasn't the right way to go its £$£ decision plain and simple.

Spot on !

Checo was actually already fired (on paper)
But then Liberty-Media and the Mexican government stepped in (again)!
Thinking ahead , the Mexican GP could become a disaster , boycott , etc...

In other words : Politics and $Millions (!)

[George Russell Drops HUGE BOMBSHELL On Mercedes After UNACCEPTABLE MISTAKE!]
If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it probably is a duck: if a loosely cobbled together F1 'related' YouTube video features a clickbait title with clickbait words in capital letters and some SATNAV-ish robot voice rambling, then it probably is clickbait. Infuse the video with some conspiracy narrative to further drop IQ levels with disinformation hogwash (mostly not as subtly sophisticated as doublethink).

You mention clickbait but there is no smoke without fire.
I'm sure there is a car weighing machine ay Brackley and even a bright schoolboy could work out overall the pluses and minuses of what could and wouldn't be from lightened parts with reduced rubber race tyres and other things mixed in working out the overall estimated weight at the end.

The FIA technical regs are loaded with minimum and maximum figures. A mistake can happen.

Past DSQs (2000-2024):
  • Using an illegal wing / Using illegal front wing end-plates / Using illegally flexing front wings / Using illegally flexing rear wings
  • Using illegal brake ducts
  • Using illegal floor (undertray)
  • Using illegal driver-aid system (brake balance adjustments being altered without driver input)
  • Rear skid pads thickness below minimum threshold
  • Tyre temperatures too high (27°C above the limit)
  • MGU-K exceeding the power limit
  • Insufficient Fuel Sample (less than 1 litre) / Car underweight due to fuel system anomaly / Fuel consumption too high / Exceeding the maximum fuel flow rate / Consistently excessive fuel mass flow
  • Car 2kg underweight (Kubica - Hungary 2006) / Car 1.5kg underweight (Russell - Spa 2024)
  • Changed car (Bernoldi - Australia 2002)
  • Leaving the pits while the red light was on (Trulli - Austria 2001 | Frentzen - Australia 2002 | Montoya - Canada 2005 | Massa - Canada 2007 | Fisichella - Canada 2007 | Barrichello - Australia 2008)
  • Dangerous driving (Sato - Japan 2005)
  • Driver ignoring blue flags (Sato - China 2006)
  • Lying to stewards about allowing another driver to pass while the safety car was on the track (Hamilton & McLaren - Australia 2009 - about "liegate": see here and here)

I'm slightly puzzled as to the fuel removed from the 63 car in that it was over a litre at first, (which is the required amount), but then more was drained out after stewards investigated more. Was it a requirement for all of the fuel to be drained out in spite of FIA having their full litre ?

The car is supposed to weigh 798kg fully empty of fuel, with tires on.

They drain the fuel, take a liter from it and dump the rest.

Fair do's Lens, now I know that it's a completely dry tank measurement.

Ok with that cleared up spare a thought for poor RIC who thought it was a signed and sealed RB 20 seat with the no 3 on it being in at Zandvoort but was shafted at the entry door by other factors.
