well, my camera is 7 years old, and $200 would be more than what the body is worth.
Ok, I just found out my local store would do it for $100. Unfortunately it won't be done before I leave for vacation on Friday morning... ugh.

Hold your lens up and look into the front element side at the blue sky. If you do it right you will see the dust on/in the lens.
Or you can take a pic of the sky with no lens and see if it is the sensor. I PP it out on the lens dust, haven't had sensor dust yet 11K frames and counting..

switch lenses, if you have the dust spots on another picture from another lens, then it's the sensor....
there's lots of kits available for sensor cleaning out there, and there's also lots of youtube vids showing how to do it. |

Lessons learned while walking around NYC:
1. (Rodi will nah-nah me for this one) DON'T BRING ALL YOUR LENSES!! (My aching back.) 2. Don't expect clear shots of anything. 3. Prepare for construction. (The UN looked like a bombed out building.) 4. Don't overextend your outbound walk. It makes for a long, long walk back. 5. If you're walking, a 24-70mm f2.8L is worth any 5 primes. Maybe that's why they cost so much. Oy, I'm sore.

I could've told you that. Take one, maybe two lenses if you'll be walking a lot. Did you at least take some good pics?

I would say 2 lenses would be good in NYC a wide angle zoom like your 10-22, and a 24-70. Only reason i say this is because of your crop body. The 24 just doesn't go wide enough of a crop in my opinion, however with the full frame, it's pretty good. however, on a full frame, i think i would enjoy the 24-105 a bit more as an every day shooter if i were to leave lenses behind. It's lighter then the 24-70, has image stabilizer and a bit more reach. if you leave that 24-70 on your neck the whole day, you might feel it by the end of the day , that's why i have the shoulder strap for it, takes so much weight off. blackrapid rs-4/ |

every time I'm in NYC during the day i would carry my 80-200mm, 50mm, and 11-16mm. For night shots i bring my 11-16mm, 50mm, and my tripod. some times if i'm lazy i'll just bring my 18-200mm.

do you find a big quality difference when shooting your other kit compared to your 18-200? that's a huge zoom range, and it makes me wonder because people still love having that flexibilty.

the 18-200mm is a good travel/walk around lens but compared to my 80-200mm f/2.8 & my 50mm f/1.4G i would much rather use them.

The new Sigma SD1 was recently announced. With an MSRP ~$7k, it's going to be pricey body. It's sensor is unique and kinda interesting. Here's an in-depth preview:

Hi guys, quickie Nikon lens question for you guys.
I currently own a D90. Currently own the Nikkor 18-200mm VRII, 50mm 1.8 and Sigma 24-70mm. I'm looking to pick up a great wide len. It can be prime or zoom. I will be going up to a full frame body in the next year or so. Any suggestions? |

I was gonna say the Tokina 11-16mm, but then you said you'll upgrading to FF. Perhaps the Nikon users can chime in...

+1 for Tokina but for FF maybe the Nikkor 14-24mm but that's $$$. if money is an issue try the Sigma 12-24mm f/4.5-5.6

The 17-35 f2.8 is also very well regarded (though I want to sell mine for the 14-24....)
