Wish those Vortex UH1s were in stock. It'd be a great slightly cheaper alternative to EOTECH. Looks like even used Vortex are going for Eotech prices right now...I was looking at a Holosun units with solar power. Looks pretty solid too.

I know Vortex has one that is potentially a better option.

Eotech actually got in trouble for lying about their reliability to Uncle Sam. They were losing zero in the cold for our soldiers and stuff. Eotech is not what they were twenty years ago. Aimpoint is the top dog in red dots (holo or not), but I was happy to sell my T2 and go with another Romeo5.

I'm not trying to dissuade anyone. Just some info. A lot of ppl didn't care and still like using their eotechs. I have an old 511 on an early-2000s M4A1 build of mine that I really like.

Eotech for civilian usage (not extreme hard usage) are okay. I prefer an Aimpoint any day of the year.
Sig has really stepped up a few years ago in their product line. From suppressors to optic. I'm actually impressed with their optics at their price point.
Vortex is a good choice too, but I'm not really into them even though I have their red dots. I prefer their magnified optics.. though I probably would grab a Sig magnified optic first due to their BDX system. I'm waiting for Sig to come out with their top tier optic to see if it would complete against my US Optic, Nightforce, or even my SWFA SS.

Having fun in the rain shooting my DLT-19 on antiquated mounts in the rain.

PS never put your hand where I had it.. steel brass ejecting flies more forward than I expected.

That looks fun!

Man, that DLT-19 sure looks like the old MG34. Probably just a coincidence.

The rate of fire on that thing is fast.. Had a box of ammo trying to counterweight a bit.. and even then the AA tripod wanted to lift. I do have video.. had like 4-6 phones taking videos at the same time. LOL

You just found some 9mm online. And then you move on to something something I zoned out.

Dude, that was sorta like your prom date giving it a little squeeze and jumping out of the car saying good night.

I'm in the mode of mostly dry firing and using my iTarget. Live fire is reserved for classes, and chores like verifying reliability and zeroing.

The carbine class I took said to bring 400 rounds. I felt like I got a refund for the class when we only shot 170 rounds.

Locally a new gun store/chain just opened up and they have literally everything in stock right now. Multiple pallets of 9mm 5.56 7.62 ect....prices arent terribly inflated either

Possibly a lull.. until the storm on the availability and pricing. I think if Trump wins stock of stuff will become more available.. if Biden wins.. mega craze in gun and ammo purchases. Of course this is only speculation for the USA.

Picked up 4 boxes of .38 special today at Bass Pro, still no .357 which is a shame, but I'll keep trying.

The UH1 looks cool and I like Vortex optics, but for now they are the same cost as EOTech, and the EOTech is smaller, lighter, has a longer track record, and is available with the -2 reticle, and has a great .300 blk BDC reticle option as well.

Just a heads up for anyone looking for Vortex UH-1. There are a lot of fake ones for sale on ebay and the like. They look extremely similar. These are completely sold out at major retailers, and there was a seller who listed 10 at $400. I hope for the sake of buyers that those are genuine but I highly doubt someone can source 10 of those and sell at that price. All 10 sold within 2 days! Just be careful and I would ask for serial number when possible and check with Vortex.

Looks like optic planet has a few UH-1
https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.opt...ml%3f_iv_amp=1

If you have astigmatism look at the Holosun 510. The UH-1 (like Eitechs) will look like a blur.
