That is a BIG question, that will be only answer in a year or two from now.
She like big SUV - X5, but not X3 or X6 I told her that with any X you got only trip to S.Carolina, not Munich. She was not happy with that. 2 early for her any way. Maybe she liked new F30 (keep my finger cross), or we have two separate trips - one to Performance Center delivery to pick up X5, and one just a vacation in Europe. Or on the way from Vacation, instead to flying back to LAX - flying to Greenville, South Carolina.

^^^Another nice one. How is the foreground lit? Flashlight or some other light source?

Mark, believe it or not, it's light from my garage carriage lights (incandescent) bounced of the trunk lid of my 335d. The maple on the left is actually a crimson maple turning colours, but the center tree is a beech and doesn't look even close to red during the day. The shot looked interesting enough on the camera last night, but I didn't download it until tonight, tweaked the saturation a little to bring out the colours a bit more. It was still a bit humid, but you can see a wee bit of the Milky Way slightly right of center running slightly off the vertical.
It was shot in JPG large/fine...next time I'll shoot RAW. Cheers D.

cool.. I have the 100mm f/2.8L IS macro, but I've used it more for portraits than for macro so far.

You do have a thing for insects, eh Marc?
Great shot, btw. Was it tough holding focus that close with such a narrow DOF?

Actually I think I have a thing for macro. Insects happen to be interesting macro subjects. Holding the focus was not to difficult because: A. I had the camera on the porch B. Subject was freshly molted, so not very mobile. C. Time delayed shutter Just set the focus 1:1 and slowly moved it in range, actually took about 10 shots and this is just one of them. @Dave: Thanks man! |

What's your feelings about this lens over the 100mm macro? Are you going to try that one as well?
