My first BMW was a 2016 320xi that I leased (I know, nothing exciting). I loved that car, the way it drove, the way I felt in it, but I wanted something faster... So I bought a 2011 135i and am thoroughly enjoying it!

DCT E93 M3 is the first car and first BMW for me.
And after 3 years driving, I bought 1991 E30 318is. Besides, the S54 is waiting to be swap into the car, since the original engine is 200,000 miles. |

Miss my blue E92 335i 6-speed. Bought in 2012 and sold in 2016. I 1st started working on/modifying them in 2007 when my buddy got an '06 E46 M3. That started the bug.
He and I both talk about how much we miss both cars.

Bought my first car in April 2006, a MY97 BMW E36 328i cabrio.
Car I wanted for many years and finally found one that had all the right options. Still own it. Daily'd it till december 2018. Now serves as my driveable spare parts box for the M3. Retrofitted about every possible option it didn't have. Than in 2013 I found my holy grail in Germany, E36 M3 3.2 cabrio, with under 80k km on the clock. 1/12 in Alpinewhite on black. All the retrofitted options of the 328i, taken out and fitted to the M3. Taken on the 1st day of ownership ended up like M3

Mine was a 1998 e36 Alpine White M3 with Silverstone interior. I kept that for a few years and then traded it in for a e46 M3. I have had several BMW's and the e46 M3 is still my favorite by far!

My first BMW
3 Weeks ago I purchased my first ever BMW after having my eye on the E92 Coupe for many years. I finally decided to trade in my Subaru for a 2013 320D with 89,000km on the dial. I want it to last as long as I own in good maintained condition that will see it go the distance without any major mechanical issues.
There are no leaks, engine sounds great and has plenty of power. I have joined this forum for any tips and advice on how to keep mechanically a1 and if there is anything I need to know which I may not. I plan on servicing myself apart from certain that is beyond my experience. I guess owning a diesel has its differences to a petrol and I am wanting to be well ahead of the game when it comes to upkeep in order to get many years of just log book servicing out of it. So far it is the nicest car I have ever sat in and driven and feels so safe on the road, especially long journeys and I am never uncomfortable in it. |

1969 2002
My first BMW was a 1969 2002 I bought new in 1969. Fun little car, but the racing bug bit and I put a roll cage in it and took it to the track in 1971 and 1972. I couldn't afford to do the racing properly and sold it shortly thereafter. I didn't buy my next BMW car until 2012, an F10 M5. Their cars had changed a lot in the 43 year interval! Cameras have changed a lot too!
The picture on track is at the now defunct Riverside Raceway in California, up the hill to turn 6. |

My first BMW is my current OG M2. I always liked the way the 3-series cars looked, but the interior's always put me off. They seemed overly harsh, and just a generally unfriendly environment. I wanted an E30, E36, and an E46 really bad, but never got any of them. Then the E92 was on my list, but the car had gotten just way too big and heavy.
Thankfully the M2 is damn near perfect in just about every way, and has a very friendly interior. |

1977 BMW 320i - similar to below
Was my first car, mid 1990's Was a tank. Was pretty warm inside as i don't think the ac worked or worked very well. I called it the bavarian oven. I maxed it out one time on the freeway at 100mph (exactly so i reckon it had a speed limiter). Had fuel issues from what i think was the injectors. Not very reliable but was fun. One thing i did notice is that the steering felt very accurate and made the car feel fun to drive. After that i always wanted an M3 in Laguna Seca Blue (like most bmw fanboys). Then bought a 135 when i had a career, and now have an M2 Competition which i love. |
