Genius gave it to me. I will check the system with my CA tomorrow. They use the same website to track your car. My car has been at the VPC since July 7. First date was July 9 then switched to July 20. Now August 22. Genius said parts are being shipped but that date can also change so nothing is final but it's better than nothing.

Not sure if that's worse or better than I would have thought.

I had the ultimate pleasure of speaking with Thomas Schemera the head of BMW ///M NA today after escalating the issue within BMW. He reiterated what David relayed to me yesterday and assured me that people are working around the clock to deliver the new differentials. He also confirmed without me asking that it's a NVH issue and not a recall. I expressed to him that the community is frustrated because communication is lacking. He is working to feed this information through the large machine that is BMW corporate.

All though we are a close, tight, and connected community we are probably a small percentage of the M population. Therefore, in my opinion, most of the customers outside of our network wont know the difference or accept a few week delay. Again, purely my guess. So, all though i'm frustrated, I also understand the logic to hold the cars at VPC vs. use dealer network. A few of us that were caught in transit to ED / PCD were affected the most and it completely sucks - please escalate your frustration to your CA.

He is a really nice guy and equally frustrated as us because he has M roots, and knows the M community is extremely loyal and passionate about the brand. For me, some average Joe, to receive a call from him speaks volumes to the commitment they have to resolve the issue and get us on the road with our new babies. Personally, i'm stuck not sure if I am able to take delivery on 8/8 (probably not) but this phone call helped to put my frustration at ease.

I hope this info helps and don't hesitate to drop me a PM.

Thanks for the update- that's helpful. I'm waiting on my first car ever (M4) and am excited beyond belief. This whole situation has put a serious damper on it though as there wasn't going to be much driving time before winter to begin with...

Same here... First M4, first BMW period. Was very excited, now, just frustrated. I've sent an email to BMWNA and it was never responded to. I got an automatic reply a week ago stating I would get an answer by phone or email from a rep, but nothing yet. I don't expect one honestly. The customer service from my CA all the way up the chain is atrocious.

I really hope this is true. It sort of lines up with what my dealer told me, just not sure how long it will take the parts to get from the port to the dealership.

Thanks very much for posting this. So far this first BMW purchase experience has not been great....terribad actually. But comments like this sort of eases the pain and frustration.

BMW in Lebanon told me they are already shipping the new diffs which should be here in max 15 days. So hopefully soon we will get the new diffs.

There's one upside to all of this. The inevitable thread that these "updated" diffs are faster or slower than the others.

that's good to hear parts coming, hopefully it's true.

Now all those people doing PCD will have to be re-scheduled, so i'd say my car is still about a month out. i jumped ship though.

my dealer found another car for me. So he's sending paperwork today.. should get it tomorrow, car will hopefully ship from cali next week, be here in 2 weeks roughly.

I lost out on the LSB individual color, just couldn't bear the wait any longer...

i'm trying to find someone over on the m5 side to take over the lease on the car sitting in SC right now. Don't want to leave my guy high and dry on a car he built for me with 0 deposit.
