Sunday night dinner on the TV trays watching the Wonderful World of Disney. Usually pot roast, but on occasion dad would insist on Swanson TV dinner, I thought they were pretty good but could never figure out what the "gasoline on water" colour was on the roast beef.
Haha, I remember the color you are talking about! Rainbow roast beef.

All week I was planing on putting some parts on my car over the weekend. Gathered all the parts and put in a bag next to the front door so I wouldn’t forget them.

Saturday came and grabbed my bag and my daughters stuff and moms gift. Drove 45 minutes to moms. Started taking apart the car to do the work.

LEFT THE F-N BAG OF CAR PARTS NEXT TO THE DOOR AT HOME

I came in just after the punch card reader had been pushed to the back of the lab and covered with a tarp. We had brand new terminals with modems that I think were 1800 baud. And a green-bar tractor feed printer that we used to make big ASCII art banners. Somehow our shitty math teachers managed not to ruin the fun of programming, at least for me. Still pounding out code, 40+ years later.

I remember the computer rooms that '60s mainframe computers were housed in, they were cold, had a raised floor, and the punch cards spit out the best confetti into a little box. Hey, I was a little kid, confetti was fascinating.

Ha! I remember going from a TI-30 to a TI-55II. It was like going from a Model T to a 911 Turbo. I was king of the nerd hill for almost 5 months.

Dot matrix printers with the white-green paper. What were they thinking?!?!!

Wat-IV Fortran. I've had this conversation with UncleWede in the past and discussing the poor hapless fools who dropped 3 and 4 inch stacks of punch cards. They'd end up as puddles of tears and angst in the basement of the computer building. #allnighterlife.
