Took three weeks for bruising to go. I must be going stupid as I'm looking to do another build, maybe a plug and play system this time around.
In my younger days I replaced vibrators and vacuum tubes in '40's and '50's cars. I had cigarette and cigar ashes fall on face. The back of my head laid in floorboard dirt. My back hurt. And then the customer bitched about the bill.

Did the same thing in my dad's garage as the kid helper. Don't know how he did it, drilling holes in fenders for antennas too.

Off, yes. When driving, if my synched watch shows some random caller, I press the detach button and it hangs up on them.

Ha, did that as well. 3/4" or 1" hole saw. Man, did that make me sweat! We triple checked the hole placement before drilling.

Then there was routing the antenna cable to the radio...

Oh yeah, and don't forget installing a capacitor across the generator or alternator connections to eliminate the whine. Heh!

I'm remembering that cap trick. In the 77 bug, if I turn on the headlights, I lose the LA radio stations.

I tried them but never really got used to them.

I'm sure they have newer, thinner, and better ones now but it's so simple for me to put on or take off glasses whenever I want. Besides, with the cataract surgery I had done some years ago I barely need glasses anymore.

I didn't lift with my knees..

It was the lean over the sink for the close-up in the mirror that did me in.

The worst ones were the automatic antennas that were on the rear fender, what a PITA!! Forgot about the cap trick, a lost art.
