Back in the tri state it’s still fing hot

It has been quite hot here, just like in many other places. Not complaining, because there hasn't been a stormy day in near two weeks. Finally able to work on outside chores on solid soil. Although hot, humidity continues to remain at tolerable levels. Next potential storm systems are forecasted for the middle of next week.

We've had rain every day this week during the "heat dome". The temperatures would have been tolerable if it weren't for that humidity spike from the constant on and off rain. It seems like every hour there would be either intense sun, rain or cloud. This weekend will be the same... Thankfully it's over next week and we can get back to normal summer!

Tomorrow night for my walk, around 9:30, it is predicted to be 81°F. We’ll see…

Having survived a few days of heat dome that then moved East to torment the U.S. heartland and then the Atlantic coast, things settled down. We just had a couple of 90ish days but now it's back to what I call perfect temps: Upper 70s or 80s in the day and cooling off nicely at night. I still think that the Willamette Valley Oregon summers are among the nicest anywhere.

Then there's the other nine months of the year.

Another perfect day. Especially for the High School Grads who are having their parties this afternoon. Some parents have pooled their resources and rented a stretch limo for two days. The prom was last evening. They also got together and had one those "Circus" tents that can hold dozens of people and catered food. I have been invited to join the festivities.

Feet up, nice glass of wine, watching another typical day in my neck of the woods come to a close.

Today will hit 97 degrees, but it makes for amazing evenings outside!

Right now its piss down rain (¾" expected) and more of the same until tomorrow afternoon.

If your ship sails on the Northumberland Straight, south of Prince Edward Island, I might just see you and wave back. How big is the Cruise ship? Because it might not make it under the Confederation Bridge, and it will have to navigate north of the Island.

It's "only" 89 F-ing degrees outside today...with a 73% humidity! The USA NWS' heat index is 105 F.....

NW Iowa - Massive flooding. Several areas have been declared a disaster area due to flooding. Iowa Great Lakes (Okoboji) has docks demolished and boats and lifts floating away in some areas.

Downstream in the Des Moines area, local reservoir expected to rise 27ft by end of the week. 2 months ago much of the state was in severe drought.

I live in Sunny South Florida. It's hot and sweaty down here. I recently went to Texas which is a little hotter. I'll take the Florida heat.
