Congrats on your daughter Rmtt, that’s a special day handing her off to get married! Let us know how it goes. Try not to cry to much...lol
I think the only saving grace for me is that they have been an "item" since 9th grade. I know his family, vacationed with them, and they are very nice and humble people. Plus his dad is the head of our county SWAT team, and his Uncle is the Coroner for our county. We sat him down early and told him we could make him disappear really quickly if he did her wrong...LOL.

But he's a good kid. Graduated top of his class, had a free ride through a great private college in our area, and almost finished with Graduate school and working in the Pharmaceutical field. He's laid back...she's like me...well the Engineer like me...so they balance each other out.

My daughter just graduated last year, and currently working in the Surgery Intensive Care Unit in our local hospital. She plans to go on to Graduate school and eventually become a PA.

So my wife and I are very fortunate. They have already even bought their first house and close in a couple of weeks. He plans to move in, then she will follow after they marry.

I wouldn't say that. Just seen your pic in the other thread. Looking good and in shape. Very healthy look! Especially with you being tall and having a bigger frame to fill out. You can definitely tell you train and have for awhile.

When short, 10lbs one way or the other is pretty dramatic looking. But when covered up, it's a different story as I still feel small. But when you train with a guy that looks like my training partner, you always feel small.

Plus since my gym sponsors a bodybuilding show each year, there are a lot of people in really good shape around at one time or another. Our gym is one of the oldest in town....my gym owner trained Lee Haney when he competed as a teen. He still stops by anytime he's in town as he's from here. Super nice guy!

You and I are similar where it comes to vascularity. I have veins showing in all the areas you mentioned....they just get a little extreme if I go too low in the summer. Come out across my chest....even have them in my abs.

That's the stuff my wife thinks is gross...lol.

But when gaining....I'm the same as you. I'm a little looser with diet and play it by ear.

So due to work....I have taken off the last 2 days from the gym. Looking forward to getting back into my routine and looking forward to tomorrow morning's workout.

Use to be stuff like that would just kill me as I felt like I could literally feel myself shrinking. Now I have learned to just "roll" with it. I figure I have put my time in. I probably trained almost 20 years straight without missing a day as I even had gym time planned during any vacations.

As I have gotten older...I don't let a few days mess with my head.

But unfortunately I am the type of guy that if I miss too many days...I lose weight. If I don't work-out, I tend to not eat as much as I should.

Nice! You are getting into that area where you step back, and you feel the bar start to give a little!

I was back in this morning although I didn't want to go. Alarm went off at 3:30 and startled me. Usually I wake up about 10 minutes before it goes off.

Programming had me doing Bench today as my 1st exercise. 7 sets of 315 @ 3 reps. Then AMARAP on my last set with 275. I like these sets. The first 2-3 sets feel hard and awkward, and the last sets feel like you finally hit the groove and you feel strong and controlled. Each set was followed by face pulls.

Incline Bench was the 2nd exercise with EMOM sets. 225lbs and 1 minute rest periods. I think I got 6 sets before my reps dropped off below 5 and I ended the series.

Ended up with some light triceps work...mainly just stretching the Long Head with a kind of pull-over/skull crusher combo type of exercise. You can feel it pull all the way up into your armpits.

So today was Back. My programming had me doing Rack Pulls as Tier 1, and Bent Over Rows as Tier 2 exercises. Best weight/reps below

Rack Pulls - 455 x 5. And I did use straps. I love this exercise as it fries your upper back while keeping the impact to your lower body down so that squats aren't affected the next workout.

Bent Rows - 225 for EMOM sets. After a few warm ups, I made 5 sets before the 6th set had me only hitting 4 reps. Anything below 5 reps and that is where I am supposed to end my set.

Back Width exercises aren't setup in this variation, so I usually superset weighted pull-ups with OHP on my shoulder days.

Same here. I tend to neglect those areas more often than not.

2 a day now?

I used to do that years ago. Hit up weights in the morning, go back in the afternoon and do cardio, then hit areas like calves and do mobility and stretch work.

Now the last thing I want to do is go into a gym in the afternoon. Too many people there..and most just there to socialize.

Screw that...I'm not a social person anyway. Rather be at home with the wife and pets.

So after Rmtt, and 1Moremod recommendations I am giving 531 a try again. So, hopefully with some changes in my diet, and few other things coming my way I am hopeful of getting strong 💪.

I didn't say that I recommended sitting on the couch and eating chips.

Awesome. Just remember...its a template. If you have a training day scheduled and don't feel like you are recovered....skip it. But you have to learn to be able to tell when you are not ready....or just being lazy like I've done in the past!

But the reverse holds true as well. I've had days scheduled off that I went ahead and trained as if it were part of my programming. Especially earlier on before the weights started getting heavier.

Just paused 335 relatively easily. Had to tell spot to get his hands off the bar while I was at the bottom then still pressed it out. Pause was long long.

Did short bike ride 10 miles with wife today after heavy quad day yesterday, they really filled up fast and got good pump. Not sure how they will feel later.

335 lb was easy peasy for me when I was at my strongest. I will get there again but right knee has patellar tendinitis so I am scared of pushing me myself too much.

This is bench we are talking about here, your knees should be fine.
