Me on the other hand...he will give me enough room to almost hang myself without doing permanent damage. But I guess that's the cool thing about working out with the same guy for so long...you learn when to step in..or step back.

So squats and OHP press for me tomorrow. Today was deadlifts and Bent Rows. Worked up to 4 plates on DL for a single rep, but felt like I had more in me. Was able to get 2 plates for 10 good reps on Bet Rows later.
After taking 2 plates off each side of the bar to get ready for rows, 225 felt easy for the first 7 reps!

So squats and OHP press today.
Squats - 7 sets of 385 lbs at 3 reps per set OHP - 5 sets of 190 lbs at 5 rep sets Finished up with some side delt work, calves and forearms. Tomorrow is listed as a rest day as my next training day is bench...so I will probably take it to recover as this upcoming Bench day is supposed to be where I set my new "maxes". Programming has me doing warm-ups, then 340lbs for as many reps as possible. Not sure how that is going to go yet as I haven't attempted anything over 315lbs in awhile. It's funny how it goes. You might hit 315 for say 3-5 reps....but add a paltry 25lbs to the bar and you may end up getting "pinned" under there if not careful. I don't care what anyone says...when you get to the point of benching 3 plates....trying to progress with even modest amounts of weight above that is a fight pure and simple!

So call me crazy or dedicated. I have today and tomorrow off from work, but still hit the gym at my regular time.
So bench was setup for my next round of programming. 345 - 4 reps - For some reason I felt weak on this lift....probably had to do with my warm up sets. I was hoping for at least 5.....but couldn't finish the 5th one on my on. But I did pause between reps exceptionally long....it was like I couldn't get set up properly. Incline Bench - 235 for EMOM sets. I got 7 sets in before my reps dropped below 5. These are brutal as your endurance tanks quickly. 1st set I did 14 reps. Then just did some weighted dips to finish out along with the usual face pulls. |

I'm trying to work back down into the lower rep ranges as I had been doing more moderate reps for awhile. But God.......today I'm sore.
Even my knuckles hurt from gripping the bar too tight....or it might have been that monster size M3 sway bar and bushing set I put on my car. It does make me feel I'm getting old. I remember 5-6 years ago....345 was one of my warmups for a single as I was headed for that magical 4 plate bench. I realize now that I will never see that type of weight again....especially at my current bodyweight. |

Side note....how you liking the M3 sway set up? I have it on my E91 along with end links and control arms. Handling is phenomenal now! |

It's pretty tight as it is, and I think the subframe work will be the icing on the cake! |

So a quick update.
This morning was Squat and Shoulder day. Squats - Worked up to 405 for a triple using knee sleeves. Then dropped down to 275lbs and banged out a set of 15 reps. This last set was a "piston" type of motion maybe using 80% of my full ROM. Doing this keeps the quads stressed and really pushes blood into them. Shoulders - Today was a Tier 2 exercise which I have setup as dumbbell overhead presses and my working set was 75lbs. Getting them in place was the hard part. Nailed 15 reps with it. But in doing so it set me a new training max that is going to have me using dumbbells that I don't think I will be able to maneuver into position. So because of that, I will probably have to change that exercise on my next round of programming.
