^ speaking of tires what's the consensus on the "best" pair of sports michelins out there? PS2s? PS3s? pilot super sports?

Normally I've been operating under the (perhaps) naive assumption that the more expensive the tire, the better. Or, all things being equal the higher the number the better (i.e. PS3 > PS2)

I've gone through 3 pairs of PS2s which have run me about $380/tire if I recall correctly. Actually it's not 3 full pairs because my fronts lasted me for 2 sets of tears, but anyways.

I've noticed that the pilot super sports are cheaper than $380/tire. How do they compare?

I was a PS2 snob and my buddy talked me into the new Pilot Super Sports. In my opinion, they don't compare to the PS2s for grip. PS2s would have loads of grip until about 2/3 the way through their life. The Super Sports were breaking loose just a month or two after putting them on. My past PS2s had the same amount of grip when i took them off of the car as my 3 month old Super Sports do right now. Quite disappointed. They are supposed to last longer, but i can't speak to that yet.

If you want max grip, i'd stick with the PS2 maybe try the PS3s.

Tonka pretty much sumed it up. Because I almost daily the 335 in the summer, I put the "cheap" rubber on that and get some performance while having a longer life out of the tire. I have had PS2s on my M3 before and they do have substantially better grip, but less tread life, but as that rarely gets taken out for just a commute anymore, I put some 888s on that.

If i sound bitter its because my buddy, (who owns the tire shop) told me that they perform better than the PS2s, with longer life, for less money.

I'm betting that bitch got a kick back or something from his supplier.

I agree completely with you, the PSS does NOT perform like the PS2 does. If you are looking for flat out performance, the PS2 is what you are looking for between the two, if you want more longevity, the PSS is a better pick.

Nice, this is very helpful. I'm not looking for the absolute best performance anymore. And, as you guys alluded to the treadwear on the PS2s are absolutely atrocious.

I'll probably just try the PSS for my next set of tires. Living in Texas, we don't really see any snow so I'm primarily concerned with dry and wet traction between 40 and 100 Fahrenheit, although I've driven my car (gingerly) at sub-freezing temperatures before with no issues.

Nice! I just picked up the 5s myself. Very impressed with it thus far.

Then again, it replaced an iPhone 4 . . .

I have my medical card for to go to dispensaries in MI. Obviously you can get top notch from Cali, but there are a lot of high quality strains that are grown indoors as well. I've gotten some pretty gnarly stuff in the city, to say the least. Chem dog, Purple Urkle, Afghans, Train Wreck, White Widow, etc.

Yeah it's really nice and looks amazing, especially in gold! I have a work-phone Galaxy S4 and I am less than impressed with it. I'm bored of the whole Android experience, but for now Apple has got all my attention..
