Tomorrow will be a year my dad passed away. I’d give anything to hug him one more time. It feels like it was yesterday. Still so raw, sometimes the hurt is so bad it’s like physical pain.

I know the feeling...

It's been three years for me. I visited the site where his ashes were buried when I visited my mum last week-end . His urn is by the falls.

He’s buried a couple of miles from my house but the cemetery hours are silly. They close the gates at 4:00 pm. I go every Saturday and Sunday. I’d go every day if I could.

Does the pain ever go away? I dream of him constantly. It’s weird though. Sometimes it’s comforting and other times, it’s so upsetting.

I don’t think it does. I haven’t lost a parent, but losing Derrick has got to be almost similar. I was talking with my sister today. We agreed that the pain doesn’t go away, we’re just learning to live with it.

No it doesn't. 7 year death anniversary for my dad last month. You just live with it.
