Maybe Caramello. But not Carmelo. He's just a scorer. He can't lead a team and probably never will.

No questions MJ is great and I guess the greatest. However my argument for Kobe is always this...
After Shaq left, Kobe went almost 4 years w/o any superstar level help. Jordan NEVER had a year that he wasn't setup with an All Star squad. The moment he lost in the Eastern conference semi's he was rewarded with Dennis Rodman. Jordan NEVER had to threaten to leave a team to get more talent for their star. Jordan played with Scottie who was a top 50 player of All Time. Even if you kicked it up to top 100(given the extra time), can any of Kobe's teammates fill any of those spots aside from Shaq? Not even Pau Gasol. |

Is MJ better than TD??? Most definitely, no arguments .
Is Kobe better than TD? I would argue no. With the exception of landing Aldridge this past free agency, Duncan has NEVER had a super star or an all star cast for more than 1-2 of his 18 seasons, yet he's never missed the playoffs, won 50 games in 16 straight seasons and he's had a much better career than Kobe. After the Lakers got their beat down from the pistons on 04, TD carried the spurs in 7 to beat the pistons in 05. All he had was a healthy Manu. TD has consistently done more with a lot less, Kobe had a prime gasol, healthy Bynum, artest Fisher and Odom off the bench and Phil and they still lost to Boston in 08. TD had who? Oberto? Brent Barry? Speedy claxton? 90 yr old horry and Steve Smith. Kerr played like 5 minutes and their backup center was nzir muhamed ....... The fact that Duncan will still contend for a title and may win it all again this coming season speaks volumes about his greatness. I would put Duncan ahead of Kobe as an NBA player on and off the court any day of the week. If Kobe isn't even as great as TD , how can we compare him to MJ??? |

NBA is becoming a position less league. TD is actually a center BTW.
You can compare MJ to anyone and he is still the GOAT. If we simply go by better NBA player like I explained in my post, TD is still hands down better than Kobe. If we stick to ranking by position , then no doubt MJ is 1a and Kobe is 1b in the SG position. |

So lets speak accolades and career individual and team accomplishments
TD vs Kobe Ill start with TD and you can decide for yourself #1 draft pick Rookie of the year 2 back to back league mvps 3 finals mvps 6 finals appearances and 5 titles Spurs all time leading scorer 15x all star All star mvp 2000 10x all NBA first team 16x all NBA defensive team (8x 1st/8x2nd) Kobe wasn't even the best player on his team for 4 of his rings. Gasol was arguably the best in 2009 , but i do agree with kobes finals mvp against Orlando in 2010 BTW, no one is in the MJ convo. It's ranked as Jordan ....... Then the next best guy starts #1, that'll be magic Jordan doesn't start at 1 because he's incomprehensibly better than everyone else |

The way I compare two players is this : Ask yourself which player you would pick at age 20 if you were the coach of a NBA team and knew EXACTLY how each player would turn out to be in the future..
Knowing what both Kobe and TD have accomplished in their carriers, I would have picked TD over Kobe in a heartbeat. What really separates him from Kobe is his leadership skills which Kobe totally lacks. My 20 bucks against anyone's dollar that EVERY single coach in NBA would pick TD over Kobe if both were young (knowing their future as I mentioned above) |

I have only good things to say about duncan. Like a lot of great players, their environment really compliments certain personalities. Kobe would dominate on any nba team. Duncan's selflessness I think would hinder him from being a dominate force outside San Antonio.
As for bron bron. He kinda has the best of both worlds. |
