So H&R makes a great product, no doubt. I had their sport springs on my E46. I ended up getting the KW coilovers for my E92 because not only did it handle way better (and give me adjustability), but it also had an EDC option to retain the EDC functionality. I had EDC on the E92 and also ordered the Adaptive suspension this time around so it's a safe assumption that KW will come out with that on this model as well.
You're actually wrong. KW (or any other coilover) does not work in tandem with the factory EDC or the new Adaptive Suspension. The KW module takes place of EDC. Which means the programming is a KW calibration NOT BMW. It's a cool idea by KW but it isn't factory developed or even close as good.

OP, don't buy into this. Either get a set of springs to improve the look of the car or get a set of coilovers (non-electronic module) for better performance.

Does anyone have the adaptive shocks dyno plots by any chance? I just cannot imagine how any shock can properly or even adequately perform with 1.2+ inch less shock travel

Uhm I had KW V3 on my E92 and they don't still adjust stiffness w/ EDC. At least mine didn't? They just have modules so the EDC system doesn't error out. I didn't use the modules just had mine coded out.

While I love the look lowered a bit I can't stand worrying about clearance issues. I am OCD enough about parking to avoid dings and idiots. To throw in worrying about rubbing when going to new places or seeing obstacles that are questionable and unavoidable..... No thanks. I'll just admire your car as it drives by. Can't see mine going down the road while driving anyway.

Not saying anyone is wrong here just can't understand how you all manage it daily. Maybe my perception is off and lowering isn't an issue in your area. In my day to day it is. Otherwise I would be here waiting with you all.

Been driving an F80 for a month. Still no track time but pretty clear to me the car is undersprung given its weight. That said, nobody seems to have done much real work yet in terms of sorting real options. H&R doesn't publish spring rates so basically I guess people are buying on how slammed they want their car to look. Dinan, who seem to put a little more effort into developing a complete package, have nothing on their website and won't return emails or calls (how do these guys stay in business?).

I'm sitting on the sidelines for now until we see some real data.

i know a few local people with f80 and f82 H&R springs. They love the ride quality. They have EDC same as my car will have. I bought a set for my M4 when it gets here in Dec. The look is amazing with the 15mm rear spacer and 12mm spacers they are running. I also know they are adjusting the alignment settings in addition to lowering the car and extending the track width.

If you are going to do coils wait for Ohlins to come out with their line up. The entry level is about 3500.00 and go all the way up to 7000.00.

Looks great but way too much bounce and compared to factory ride, they suck. Love the flat cornering with factory suspension. Ima jus end up tossing the H&Rs and probably go with a KW Coilover set up. Jus MY opinion Tho

This!!! x100000000!! Don't mess with the stock setup! Those engineers spent years getting the chassis and suspension to work in harmony; getting springs is just going to throw that all off!

Very intelligent question that has yet to be answered! I also can't imagine how having less shock travel will make the car perform better.

I drove two m4s same day. One with springs one without it. I don't believe it improves anything but the look with the wheel gap being removed from the height of the new spring. I didn't feel a difference in ride quality throughout the change in settings for edc. The only improvement I felt was the change in the alignment for more camber, the spacers providing a wider track width and a little more grip in turns. I bought the same stuff for my car when it gets here. KW came out with a kit that includes camber plates already on the coils. That might be the solution if you don't like the springs

I bet you have a big wing on the back of your car to go faster also.

Is this your car?
