But yes we can agree on that. It gets attention because it's a celebrity. No different than the type of media attention major sporting events get, at the end of the day it matters none in the grand scheme of life but hey, it's why we have the option to just ignore the media coverage if it's something we don't care about. Back to topic. |

Unable to answer that question.
Regarding my initial statement, we can all agree that Bruce Jenner is motivated by his own personal needs and a doctor is motivated by a moral duty to society. I am not saying that either can or cannot be motivated financially but I would like to continue to discuss the direct motivation behind playing God. |

Wait 10 more years then Bruce/Kaitlin changes his mind as he/she admitted to being sexually abused and was addicted to reading trans porn...then joined a trans cult then realized at that point how far gone he/she is and is at point of no return then commits suicide.....dramatic yes.....possible scenario..yes!

He's something to think about;
If someone wanted to die because the felt all there life that they shouldn't live,would you say he's a gun go shoot yourself........I don't think many would immediately say go do it.....I think a little more study into the psyche would be the first step and try to figure out why this individual feels that way or what life events have shaped him/her to turn on themselves. I think this relates to Bruce's/Caitlyn case because who actually knows the uncountable events that may have formed this individual to do this....but who knows I may be wrong. |

That whole family are such attention whores, I can't help but think that fact contributed to his transformation. That being said, I personally don't give a crap what one does with their own body.

How the whole thing is being covered by the media is a sad commentary on society today. One of the funniest statements I've read so far on the magazine cover is the observation that this situation is the only way in hell that a 60 year old woman had any chance of appearing on the cover of Vanity Fair magazine. Sad but true.

For all of those saying that this "goes against God" and that she somehow chose this, you have to realize and understand that not everybody believes in any sort of "god", just science and genetics. Not only that, but this is not something that she "chose". You can't just choose how you really feel inside, and she most likely really does feel that she was born in the wrong body, in the wrong form. It's like feeling like you were born with a deformity. If you were born with a deformity, wouldn't you do anything you could to change that and live your life as you feel any normal person should? Not constantly conflicted and feeling like you're trapped?
It's a very difficult concept to explain and something that I'm still not able to completely comprehend. But I at least have an understanding of it, which is partly thanks to a very good friend of mine who transitioned in her early teens. I didn't know her beforehand and only met her in college, but whenever I found out, she explained it to me as best she could. It's an incredibly difficult thing to go through, and it really does take a lot of guts and determination to go through something like that. And I fully support anybody who is willing to go through so much so that they can be who they feel they truly were supposed to be. |

I take no issue in Bruce becoming Caitlyn. I do question the sincerity and manner in which it was done, at a time where this is a hot button topic. I assume there are many people thinking about making this change, and now Caitlyn is all they have to look up to. |

They're all attention whores we get it, but I highly doubt he became a woman because he found it a good opportunity to get money and attention...there's far less...intrusive and extreme ways to get money and attention. |

I agree about Caitlyn, to an extent, but I also sort of feel like it's possible that there wasn't really a better way to go about doing it. If she decided to be super secretive about it, paparazi would've found out anyways and blown it up regardless. Then it would just look like she was ashamed, which isn't a good message for those who are also going through similar situations. I don't agree with monetizing on this, but I feel like being proud about who you are and showing that sends a good message to others and shows that there is a lot of support for people going through similar situations. |

He knew at the time that the only way that someone with that many male hormones, and that masculine a physique, could possibly fly under the radar would be to compete in women's tennis. So, for his sport, he had to enter as a male.
