My first Ferrari will not be red. If it is, it's only because the example I come across is too pristine to pass up. |

Either way, it's a good choice... Kinda. I've been planning on buying myself a Ferrari F360/430 for my 25th birthday for a while now. I'm currently 19, and actually have about half the money saved up for what I think it'll be worth when I'm 25 (around $175,000 by my estimates, depending on the specimen. I plan on buying it outright!). I'll be buying it slightly used, of course. No two year waiting list for me!!! I wont be going for the Scuderia, either... I'd rather have all the creature comforts that Ferrari can offer me. Also, a Ferrari is meant to be red. That's just what they are, and that's what they always will be. However the one I purchase will hopefully be black, with black interior and yellow stitching to match the yellow badges. This last bit is pushing it, but it wouldn't be hard to have done afterwards: I also want yellow calipers. Obviously paint matched to the badge color. On another note: It's easy to say, and it's easy to hope and wish you'll do every just right so you can afford this car in the future. As the saying goes, it's easier said than done. I don't have any doubt that you'll do it, as I don't know anything about you... But I have my reservations. Good luck, and good choice!

I think The Blob tried posting a pic of a stock (non Scuderia) F430 from Allworldcars.com. It didn't work though. All visible F cars in this thread - Avio Metallic, red studio shot, and red on wet pavement are all Scuderia models. So we got that out of the way. To Kilockel: I don't know your financial situation, and it's ultimately your money; but if you're 19 and on your way to amassing the money needed to buy a used F430 in the next 5 or so years; don't spend it on a car. Although I'm guessing if you have that kind of money at your disposal, you already own property, and have a more then substantial savings built up.

That's a much worse investment then any car
jk man. Hey, you only live once, and if you got the money, why not. Just don't spend all your money of a car and be pulling the Ferrari up to your 1 bedroom apartment. Sounds like you're not going to make a stupid decision though, just make sure you're aware of the cost of maintenance on the car before signing the paperwork.

Well, I'll probably talk myself out of it when the day comes, however I might get caught up in the Ferrari hype and just go for it. We'll see! If I go through with it and I remember this conversation, I'll be sure to post pictures for ya!

Just to cease confusion here, the stripes are OPTIONAL on the Scuderia. Just as they were on the CS.

Also, I feel my $175,000 estimate is slightly high. I'm expecting more in the $150,000 range, but am preparing for the worst.
