I think this is awesome

Hopefully it will integrate with the start stop system so that when I arrive at a red light the car won't turn off if the light is about to change

LOL. Waze does a great job of this especially when you see that 10+ people have confirmed it it's quite accurate. Love the app.

Seems to me like a semi useful feature. Somewhat distracting to see this inside the car plus pay attention to the intersection esp. when most accidents are likely to happen at/around intersections.

Love it! This app is for those moving the deck chairs around on the Titanic.

Neet but useless app. Have no need for this and never will. How about an app that just tells you to look ahead down the road and pay attention to the lights. This app wouldn't even save me 1 second of time in rush hour when all the lights change at the same time.

It's only good for Line of Sight.............. what if it was obscured by a.... for example... another sign or truck?

The map based on the site that someone posted shows limited coverage. Like limited, limited coverage, beta at best in those cities that have access :-/

Yes, that's exactly the purpose it will serve....to avoid unnecessary acceleration

Exactly.

My sentiments exactly on getting Waze or something like it instead. This app is totally useless in areas where you have severe traffic congestion. How does timing the light help when you can't even make it across the intersection in a timely manner to worry about the light timing? If this app were used in conjunction with an app that takes into account traffic, then we might have something.

This is junk. Something for cities to waste tax money on so the mayor can say they are doing something to help congestion and a company can get rich off of.

Guessing this is BMWNA's doing since this doesn't exist anywhere but two cities here in the USA?

Sad when the first thing I do in my 70k BMW is install a phone mount because the software is a thousand times better in my 700 dollar Iphone 6. Don't worry BMW, all the other manufacturers are horrible as well. God forbid you do anything to stand out. I'm guessing research has shown its better to spend money on marketing then products.

Ok, done ranting.

Kudos BMW.

This is very awesome because any stoplight at an intersection today that doesn't have sensors which allow the secondary roadway to go with little to no cars and allows the primary roadway (with heavier traffic during peak hours) to stop frequently is outdated, and certainly doesn't help with any fuel efficiency.
This is just a crude integration with the existing iphone app. Its hardly next gen. Run this app and you cant then use any other app .....

Bmw's connected drive app platform is a complete joke. Its seen no major update interms of overall architecture since it was originally released. The app switching rarely works properly. Apps often run slow and sometimes never start properly.
