You are taking some amazing photos... Are most of your night shots with a tripod?
Followed you on flickr

Thank you. 100% of my photos taken at night are shot using a tripod. Takes more time to adjust it but the time taken is well worth the end results. I'll get you on flickr as well.

Amazing work. Thanks for sharing with all of us.
That pier shot sure looks like the Manhattan Beach Pier to me. I grew up there and it looks so familiar. The lack of waves in your photo makes me wonder though. |

Back when I was a kid, the fishing off that pier was fantastic. Schools of sardines and anchovies were all around, bringing many types of fish into the area. Halibut, bonita, mackerel, perch, were plentiful and occasionally barracuda would be caught.
The bait fish are gone from the area. When I visit the area and walk on the pier, I see people fishing and never catching anything. Sad really. Anyway, that pier is sort of an icon and easily identifiable from the top side. Here are a couple of photos (not mine). For those who haven't been to the beach at Manhattan Beach, check it out. |

Would love to know more about your light painting setup.
Also, how were you able to light the car while rolling here? https://www.flickr.com/photos/165614...in/dateposted/ And how so crisp here? Fake motion blur? https://www.flickr.com/photos/165614...in/dateposted/

EDIT: didn't notice you copped the 5DS as well! Wondering if you've had any Moire issues yet... i got the 5DS-R and am slightly considering exchanging it for the 5DS to prevent this..
