I guess your perspective is that religion and science are mutually exclusive. Is that right?

I'm also curious - do you believe in God - any god?

Regardless..... To answer your question, I need to give you my background. Again, I am not giving any of this to spark a debate. It's what I believe.

Life is far to complex to be an accident
From the scientific side of things, when I look at a cell, and begin to understand the incredible complexity of all the systems that work together, I find it impossible to believe that it (let alone a person) came to be as a result of random events. Heck, we can't even do the simplest of experiments in the lab without controlling the conditions.

Why do I believe in the Christian God?
I choose to believe in the God of the Bible, as opposed to any other god, because every other faith says we have do do stuff to tip some kind of cosmic scale to make it into heaven, or whatever that respective faith calls it. That part (earning your way into heaven) doesn't make much sense to me. What would a God, powerful enough to create the universe need from the thing it made. As a child, if you borrowed $5 from your dad to buy him a birthday gift, he would never think he was suddenly $5 richer. In the same way, God accepts those who follow him because of their faith, not because of the stuff they do for him.

What about Heaven & Hell
I don't think anyone would debate that there is both good and evil in the world. And, if God exists, then God has standards - after all, you and I both have standards - even if they are different. God's standard, however, is perfection. And, the God of the Bible demands that there is a price for doing wrong (Hell). But, for those that accept the offer of having their sins forgiven, they can go to heaven.

I hope that helps answer your question.

True. You may get flu-like symptoms, but not the flu.

Correct, I don't understand how scientists have religion. And no, I don't believe in God. I was hoping to hear more about your description of heaven and hell, but that's ok. Thanks for your response!

Yes and no.

The prevailing hypothesis is that when the polio vaccine was mass produced, a small fraction of monkey cells used to produce the vaccine contained what we now call SIV (Simian Immunodeficiency Virus). It is the monkey equivalent of HIV (Human....).

At the time the vaccine was made, nobody even knew to look for a virus like that.

Fucks the difference!?

Hypothetical: I just got a flu shot and now have total body aches, a fever, i'm soaking wet in bed sweat, my hair fell out, and my balls itch. But it's not TECHNICALLY the "flu", so it's all good. I'm still glad I took it. haha

I guess i'll contribute with a real question: What's money better spent in your opinion; vaccine's or cures?

The bricks of course, because they sink. But, feathers - well, they may weigh a pound, but they float, so they must be from a witch.

Why don't you believe in God?

I believe in God but my belief isn't the same as everyone else. Most of the stories and movies you read from a religious POV makes God seem like some deep voiced, white bearded man watching us all. God is nothing like that.

God is too vast for Humans to understand. The entire universe and every single atom is God.

Most people who don't believe in God is mainly because they've heard the typical fairy tale of the white bearded man watching us all.
To me that's just a psychological way of controlling human conscious.
I don't fall for that trick.

I believe there is a God. I just think that the Human brain isn't big enough to understand.

Obviously this is my opinion.

Because there has been no proof.
And btw why does your god allow terrible things to happen to good people?

Anyways, don't want to derail this thread so no need to debate here.

Are the feathers compressed into a brick shape/size? Assuming so, the brick will fall faster because there is less drag.

I should clarify in case any kids are reading this for a science project. Of course this would only be applicable prior to terminal velocity. After that it would be the same, but the brick would get there 3.1125 millimeters quicker.

How come natural enhancement companies can put out placebo pills that have proven to have no real effect, nor anything close to what they advertise? What's in the placebo pills, is it cocaine? Meth? Baby powder like that cheap dude uses as a mixer on the corner of 8 mile and Mound?
