Always thought "Porsch" was more of a nickname for Porsche. Maybe it's laziness but that "e" at the end is so elongated in pronunciation that it almost doubles the time to say it.
It's like someone named Christopher, that insists being called Christopher. Not going to happen, Chris. |

Mispronouncing Porsche doesn't bother me. As long as you know what is right and say it correctly, just laugh inside when someone mispronounces...
HOWEVER what does bother me is the pronunciation of Jaguar... I hear it all the time as Jag-Wire....sounds like something to watch out for when a cowboy is tending fences on the ranch..."Hey Roy, there is another JAGWIRE we need to repair"

Put this on your phone. Next time you are at a party and somebody screws up, pull out your phone and play this short video for them. After awhile, you will have everyone in the room pronouncing it correctly. Of course, you will be the only one in the room

I always find it funny, the irony of those who call out people for saying "Porsh" and try to correct the by saying "Porsh-A." The name has an "E" at the end, not an "A."

Still doesn't change the way it's supposed to be pronounced. It's a family name, I'm sure they know how to pronounce it.

To be honest I never care how someone pronounces it until they try to correct others on the pronunciation and get it wrong anyways. |

Haha, nothing makes a P car owner more liked than correcting someone on the pronunciation. I purposely like trying to catch people saying it wrong, or even lure them into it, so I can immediately yell at them with a self-righteous correction.
In all seriousness, I don't really care how others pronounce it. I try to use 2 syllables but sometimes feel a little weird about it. This Lambo one made me laugh: |

Some very funny responses.
I will be in Germany in July driving a few. My Mrs always corrects me when I get it wrong. So I started calling it a Porka. But now I refer to it as my beetle. I am considering getting the vanity plates BEETLE or 833 TLE. Should look great on a GT3. Actually this thread has inspired me for a great response next time someone corrects me. I will ask do they pronounce it Ass-hole or Arse-hole. or even ASSSSS-Ho-well. P.S. For my American brothers, Aussies never finish words. We are lazy. So Brisbane is Bris-bun not Bris-Baaaaaane. And Melbourne is Mel-bun. Not Mel-Borrrrrrne. But knock yourself out. You could save valuable seconds pronouncing those. Hahahahaha
