Travelers here as well. I got a great piece of advice from a broker one day. If you have a really good record you should be with someone you never see advertising. Buying lots of ads = trying to expand customer base = taking more bad drivers = higher costs.

I've only had to use them twice. Both times for small things but I was happy with them. Florida already requires insurers to replace or repair windshields so I don't have any additional glass coverage. However, I had a cracked windshield last year and they replaced it with an OEM windshield.

Geico. They were the cheapest. I worked in auto insurance previously and it is generally all the same as long as you have the same coverage.

I was with USAA for 18 years but switched to progressive last year at a substantial savings. I have a 17 year old driver on my policy so never mind about the rate lol.

I have Geico for our Daily Drive Cars.
The Z4M and M3 are with Hargity. Much cheaper compared to Geico to insure with Stated Values. |

USAA since 2003, never had a single issue with any incidents in the past. Including when someone without a license or insurance rear-ended me in my M3.
Found out the rear bumper supports on the M3 are carbon fiber. The quote to fix the car went from new bumper + paint 1200$ to new bumper + paint + CF supports 3800$ lol

As already mentioned, you can’t really compare rates without knowing demographics and location.
For example, have USAA and was very surprised that my insurance went up about 50% when I moved from Virginia to Texas. However, 17 years later when I moved back to Virginia it dropped back down a similar percentage. Location can make a huge difference. USAA used to be more friendly and benevolent, but a few years back they expanded their customer base from officers only (and family) to accepting customers from all military ranks. It increased the number of primary drivers in the 18-22 age range, and I assume there are a lot more claims to deal with. They usually look at your profile when you call, which means they know I’ve had a policy for 40+ years, but sometimes you do get an agent who wants to follow the same routine with every customer. It’s very tempting to explain that “this isn’t my first rodeo.” |

After 37 years with State Farm, switched to Progressive a few months ago. Looked at Amica (their reputation has been stellar for years, unfortunately WAY more expensive for me) and others, Progressive wound up being the best deal. Also really like their online tools, insurance card in Apple wallet, and a couple of interactions I've had with them in setting things up went really smoothly.
6-month rates - pretty standard 100/300/100 coverage, zero deductible glass. Jetta is the wife's car.
