Thanks for posting the pics. I did this last year in Washington and had a blast and met some cool people that I'm still in touch with. I actually met last years' winner from Texas at the LBGP IMSA race at the BMW hospitality.
For $250 using BMW'S own M cars, fuel, tires, brakes and food this absolutely can't be beat. All of the details about these events, dates, times, specifics and locations are on the BMW site. |

I can't say I managed that, but I did manage a HUD indicated 148mph on the back straight after the hairpin. |

Great pics. Thanks for posting! I was at that same event too. Monday AM. My wife was with me and she's never driven on track before (and I have very limited experience myself. VERY limited). It was amazing to see her improve lap after lap. We drove the M3s first and she was not doing too well at first... turning in too early. By the time she drove the M4s her confidence and skill were way up and she was sticking behind the instructor and had him increasing his speed enough to where he needed to slow back down for the other 2 M4s behind us!
That was an awesome day. |

California Superbike School had an HP4 with them at VIR this year. Dylan Code and Lyle Warner took it out on track and it was awesome seeing them wring the neck of it out. It's an amazing machine and that carbon fiber frame is a work of art. I can only wonder how it compares to the S1000RRs we were running on track.
I'm jealous you have such a world class track so close to you. And for the money you paid to do the M Track Day, it's a steal. I'd probably sign up for multiple days if they allowed it. It's unfortunate that it appears CSS isn't going to put COTA on the schedule any more. I wanted to go the year they were there but couldn't swing it. Thanks for the pics and glad you had a great time. Maybe next year I'll fly down just for the event and finally meet up like we tried to do last year. |

CoopersF15 , yes, can't beat roughly 20 minutes of all out track time in a M3 and M4, burning their gas and tires with no track insurance for $250.....and then throw in some drag racing of other M cars, decent dinner, couple of quick autocross laps, and some swag for the icing on the cake.

The swag wasn't as good: everyone just got a water bottle, same one that we all received last year. But that was it.

I was providing fact-based feedback on the question. I could personally care less about a hat, a pencil, and a water bottle.

Sorry was not really directed at you personally. I know that you were just answering the question.

Great pictures and thanks for sharing. I was also in your group last Monday AM and “What a blast” it was without a doubt a day to remember. From the hard braking from 145mph at the 150mts to the nimble M2 through the autocross(16.732), the X6M that spun the tires when shifting and the chest pounding M5.
Need to do it again. The two most impressive experiences (other than the great camaraderie)to me were the Carbon Ceramic Brakes and the awesome Dynamic Stability Control. |

One thing I miss from the old days was the BMW Films DVDs they handed out. Still have the one from the first year. Star was awesome with Clive and Madonna. |
