BMW M Town Ad Series

Hmmmm - I thought this was actually a pretty cool branding exercise by a company that is seriously looking to build an engaged community and some loyalty. But only the most recent M cars are allowed to join? Why would they kneecap their community from the get go? The fact that I can't join with a Z4MC actually turns me off the BMW brand.

The best ad is that one that introd the m4 and it was drifting through all the other m cars. The fact they had car owners participate was awesome

Second one is better, but still trying too hard I think.

They should take some lessons from Porsche marketing. They let the car speak for itself usually.

That being said, I do agree that the car should do the talking, Porsche!?

However, may I add, I recently had the most frustrating drive in the world. I dropped off some friends at the airport early Sunday morning, and while going home, I had an empty 5-7 lane highway mostly empty. It took everything in me not to go 150 MPH. WTF!?!?! In my world, German cars with certified high performance drivers should not have a speed limit. No joke, seriously traumatizing experience.

There was a ///M tent and test drive available at the concours de elegance in La Jolla in 2016...where I saw the M2 in the flesh for the first time.

Except the M performance models. Hence, the addition of “performance” in their respective names, otherwise they’d just have an M.

Anyone who has owned/driven a 235/240 and M2 (owned both) know that they don’t share much beyond the Roundel badge. It’s not even close.
