This thread basically shows the ignorance of some BMW owners in a nutshell.
The sole fact that Infiniti is a Japanese car makes it less classy and not on par with a BMW... Right. |

You only feel this way because you have a 328. If you had a 335i, you would simply laugh at the comparison

A 335i and a 328i wouldn't really matter if one can accept that speed of a G37 to be more than enough for their needs. |

No. I just left Infiniti. Just not as balanced and fast a package, it is number 2 on my list.

I don't agree. I have driven the 335i and the G37s extensively and the comparison is no joke. If you think it is joke it is because you have not given both a fair comparison. There has not been a single automotive magazine comparison done yet that hasn't acknowledged how close the two cars are. Motor Trend gave the nod to the G37s (although I didn't agree with their argument) and most others have leaned towards the 335i but in EVERY case it was close and definitely nothing to "laugh" at. It's ignorant to suggest it until you have driven both and if you have and still think it is a laughable comparison then I call fanboy.

328 doesnt even compare with g37!! a 335i compares with a g37 the g37 is alot more bang for your buck than a 328 IMO. plus it has 330hp thats more than a 328 and a 335!

I agree. However, although it gets 30 more hp than a 335, it isn't as fast as it also weighs more. It's pretty close, but the 335 wins the race every time. BUT, life isn't all about stop light to stop light either.

Someone is approaching 30 and they need a more classy car so you have to go with the BMW? Identity issues. Aside from Infiniti, the Acura TL is a great car also...especially Type-S. Remember, we are talking about LUXURY sport coupes...Luxury comes first. But the ignorance of some BMW owners are beyond me. |

Amusing thread.
My personal experience.....I had an '06 G35 for two years in between my E46 and E39. The Infiniti was a nice car, sounded great, was great looking, fast and reasonably fun to drive. But I NEVER had one minute in that car that gave me the pleasure i got every day from each of the three BMW's I've owned. The Infiniti's do not handle, behave or ride like a fine European road machine. (In fact, I invested a ton in aftermarket suspension gear trying to find that bimmerfeel, but alas.) Don't get me wrong....they're fine. If you want one get one. But don't pretend they're something they're not. -TMc PS It's a NISSAN!!! PPS Mustang's are fast too! |

yes defianatley but I actually drove my cousins yesterday and well, i was very impressed. Honestly the car just feels solid. the interior and seats was really sporty those seats hugged me like a no other . the clutch was a little weird but the tranny shifted very well. the tranny was so smooth and had shorter throws than my 335 but i ike the feel of the 335 better. oh yeah and h can actually use his screen to play movies!!!!! 335i has such a beautiful screen but cannot play movies!!!!why??!!

i would say that the design of the Infiniti's interiors is a bit ahead of BMWs especially with all the technology that Infiniti throws at you as a standard option on the car. i would say BMWs interiors are a bit outdated but with the quality of the materials used its still a great place to be. Priced with the same options the G37s and the 328i are almost the same price these two vehicles should be competing against each other...in this situation the g37s blows the pants off the 328i. that being said i would pay the extra premium for the 335i (which i am about to this week) |

It bothers me too. It's the one thing I don't like about the BMW "experience". There is a guy at work who will not buy a BMW solely because of the way BMW owners are stereotyped as being arrogant, snooty, etc. He knows that isn't true of many/most but knows that perception is out there so he sticks to the other luxury sport coupe brands. It's sad that the attitudes of some taint the rest of us...

"Yes, it has a turbocharger—built by Mitsubishi, incidentally." Get rid of your 335i's people... it's got Mitsubishi turbos in them. You might as well be driving an EVO, huh. For fast driving... the six-speed manual in my Z is way better than my 335i. I bet the Infiniti uses the same type of clutch-stick setup. Raw, but the feedback was EXCELLENT. |

I'II be honest. The onIy reason I bought a bmw was the fact that they decided to go turbo and they have a great service pIan and reIiabiIity... There are better bangs for the buck mostIy coming from the Japanese. BTW, make no mistakes, Nissan makes some of the best V6s in the worId.

We are talking about the 2008/2009 G37s here NOT the G35. Everyone would agree the older G's were a step down. The G37 has come a LONG way both in handling, engine refinement and interior fit/finish and quality. |

I drove a 350z and a G35 coupe before I got my 335i, and I have to add that there are some really opinionated short sighted posters on this board. To each his own though... I have the privilege to have both cars in the garage and we enjoy them both for what they are. I say get what you know is ultimately going to make you the happiest man. Good luck. |
