It could be a real challenge to physically get that tv in a lot of rooms. I know of at least one Manhattan penthouse that needed a crane to get a 100" display into it. Actually the crane was needed twice due to a defective unit. Even marble had to be uninstalled because of that damn defective tv. That sucked.

A TV that big would be a colossal waste in our house anyway. We have one main TV that's a 10 year old Vizio. Maybe 42" or so. Works fine for the little we watch TV. Then we have two wicked cheap 32" Vizios in the Pain Cave just for Zwift and/or watching nonsense while working out.

I find it interesting how you can find sub 65" tvs for CHEAP. A decent looking samsung 65" is around $500. Now if you jump to 80"+ price triple! Cheapest 80"+ I could find was $1,500 and up. Now sure if there is some technical difficulty in building larger screens, but it seems to me if 65" is $500 I should be able to get a 130" for $1000!!!

A 65" TV has 1805 square inches of pixels. A 130" TV has 7221 square inches of pixels. Doubling the diagonal size of the screen gives you a 4X increase in screen area. On top of that, I'm sure that custom manufacturing tooling is required for larger display screens, and I bet the manufacturing yield drops exponentially as the size increases.....

The largest space I have for a TV is 42. Nothing for me this year.
It wasn't on sale, but I bought an electric smoker from Home Depot on Friday, along with a cover and some apple/pecan chips. |

What do you guys think is better. I know neither is top of the line or anything, I'm not a av fanatic or anything. Currently have a 55" LG which to me looks perfectly fine it's probably like 8 years old. Want to redo living room and will be wall mounting on a very large wall which is why I really want to go 80"+
This is basically the most I really want to spend. I know samsungs use to be some of the best TVs but havent followed TV stuff in years. https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-QN82Q...60&sr=1-2&th=1 This one is basically same price but I get an extra 4" or they have the 82" one for like $1,600. https://www.amazon.com/LG-86UM8070PU...s%2C160&sr=1-6 |

I posted my Bambi pics in the What's for Dinner thread. Did the spare turkey that showed up on our doorstep too. Wife was TOTALLY against smoking from my previous attempts with a bullet/charcoal setup. She grubbed on the turkey last night.
Next up: salmon. |

I own what was at the time, their nicest 60" Plasma. 8yrs later, it is STILL going strong! I have it hung up in my Lounge/Bar. I also have a newer 55" in my sons bedroom which he watches DirecTV and plays PS4 on it daily. And I'm a diehard fan of their Android phones. Also own a Washer & Dryer set form LG as well.

For BF I got the craftsman VersaStack storage system with a nice compatiable toolbag and a few other small parts holders. I really wanted to Milwaukee but I cannot justify paying 3x as much since I mostly use my tools in my basement workshop. I just picked up a Dewalt table saw as well since it is on sale and I "need it" for one of the Christmas presents I am building. It is for the MIL so the wifey can't complain too much. Large charcuterie tray from Wenge, Hard Maple and Padauk!

https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/samsung/q60-q60r-qled https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/lg/um8070 If i may be so bold.... Can I suggest you consider the step-up model from Samsung for another ~$500? The reason i suggest at least considering stretching the budget is to get into a display with a direct-view LED backlight the Q70 has instead of an edge-lit design the Q60 has. While edge-lit performance is vastly improved over the last few years, a big panel size like an 82" really pushes the limit. A direct-view backlight will provide better uniformity. Additionally, the Q60 lacks local dimming where the Q70 has this significant feature. In summation the Q70 has a vastly-superior backlight system over the Q60. If $2k was a hard budget, I'd consider a 75" Q70 instead of the 82" Q60, but viewing distance and other subjective issues would be have to be weighed in. https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/samsung/q70-q70r-qled
