Yeah, I think the OP doesn't understand that the M cars are NA high-revving monsters without all the low-end grunt of the 335i.....
yeah isn't that the video of the m3 trying to beat the veyron? I saw the 335i in the background.....raped it... |

I don't think any of you realize im not talking about what an m6 can do above 100 mph im really talking about the FEELING you get when you drive the car. low end it doesn't give that mad surge of acceleration like I expected , it is more gradual i understand that lol . I am really not biased to what a 335i can do to any car out there but i think it definitely holds it ground. (for a while)

I think we do understand you. You are mistaking short bursts of torque as faster than sustained torque over a broader rpm range. You should bet with an M6 owner.

if it was an m6 straight off the lot, with under 2,000 miles then it hasnt had the 150 hp added to it, making it probley about equal to a 335, but with the the updated cpu, an m6 is crazy (from first experiances)
and a fully unlocked m6 will blow a 335 clean out of the water.

I simply said a 335i with software, i has good low end power .That is really summing up what i said NOTHING MORE.

As I found out--M cars are track cars, tuned for better handling and high rpms. Regular twin turbo BMWs (i6 & upcoming v8tt) are torque monsters that will feel faster under street driving conditions than the best M cars. In any given situation, the M car will be faster, but in most city driving where you won't rev above 4k rpm the twin turbo car will feel faster becuase of the high torque available at low rpm.
Also, at a track the twin turbo would be not just slower, but because of the non-linear and flat torque of the tt engine, they are more difficult to drive at the limit as well with traction control *OFF* especially when exiting corners. On the other hand, M cars are probably much easier to drive at the limit. The 335/535 are the new breed of BMWs that are fast in a straight line (MB had them for years with supercharged AMGs) with peak torque at low rpms. There will be more with twin turbo v8s. There are many on the this forum that have never driven the M cars, and are going by videos and reviews. They will not accept the fact that the 335i may *FEEL* faster in city driving and look at any comparisons as a 335 vs m3 or 335 vs m5/6. I had started a similar thread that degenerated the same way as this: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...=335i+owner+m3 |

M6 nor are any tuned 335i's fast. They may be quickish but none are
"fast" M6 needs more power(forced induction/nitrous) to move that baby around even though it is not much more than well a 335xi. /thread

Its weight annoyed me during the //M School, but it's defintely faster than the 335i, it's just much more linear.

I can tell you from plenty of experience that the 3 feels faster, but watching the speedo the M6 is definitely faster.
