I can't see much value for me. I am still reeling that you can't display emails on iDrive 7 like 5. Nor can you read text messages on the move or have them read out to you. I can see no point to having to park the car to read a text message on the idrive, you might as well pull out your phone and have more functionality if you are going to pull over and stop.

My '21 X3 with 07-20 software displays the messages on the screen and reads them out, if I want, as I'm driving. Will even dictate my reply message back as well.

My 2021 X5 M50i already has the 07-21. 4 update. But doesn't seem to have the different sound options. Any ideas? Or is it an update on this?

My G80 was produced in Sept 21 and I just picked up the car last week, so I assume I have the latest update but don't see anything regarding M sound control... I mean there is the button next to the shifter but that controls the actual valves I thought.

DavidXJ , 2020 M340i here. I had the brake boost recall and had the software change. Initially I thought all the sounds were robbed but then noticed that the update reset even my Sport Individual settings. After changing everything back to Sport/Sport Plus, it seemed just about the same.

Now weirdly, it seems that the resonance and pops are more noticeable with the windows UP than down. Like they made the sound reverberate through the chassis and decreased it on the outside.

Overall, not terribly displeased by the changes.

I just installed the upgrade and it doesn't add any additional button or option in the settings as far as I can tell. The difference I noticed was that the car is significantly louder in Sport and Sport Plus.

Apple maps works through my HUD through car play, although its not as detailed as BMW's. Google maps still doesn't work, unless this new update rectifies that

That's all I care about. One negative on the car, even with valves wired open: too quiet.

I kid..I kid….but seriously, people need to put the phone down more. Watched a lady watching tiktok videos on her dash mounted IPAD while driving on the highway the other day. And don’t even get me started on the FaceTiming drivers. Just ridiculous.

How about we eliminate all infotainment (telephone, radio, apps) which can be distracting while driving? Don't forget about cupholders since drinking a beverage while driving can also be distracting. And those vehicles that have "the smokers package" that makes smoking possible which can also distract from driving.
