I thought that your post was a reference to the Ghislane Maxwell court evidence photo circulating in the news a few days ago, where she was rubbing Epstein's feet on his private jet.....

For me it's all about balancing comfort with convenience. For example, I'll 100% change the oil in one of my vehicles on a nice summer day. But if its cold, dark, raining dead of winter forget it. I'll let the shop do it.
The one thing i flat out refuse to do is ivy abatement. I'm allergic to the stuff and break out in hives from touching it. We have a never-ending annual battle with the shitty rental house behind us that sends up waves of ivy over our fence. Every year I happily pay a garden service to spend a couple hours back there ripping it all out and hauling it away. |

2 of the snake oil companies are Zylon and DuPont. The bottle to coat a car costs $30 and they charge $800 and nothing more than wiping it on with a rag |

^ AND you have to re-apply every quarter or 6 months to maintain the warranty

Lawn care definitely. Mowing the grass in humid Texas heat can be suicide.
Water delivery service. It's nice to just have clean purified water delivered straight to your door. |

Thinking about the things i hate doing the most, I’m surprised that i haven’t paid someone to stand in a really long queue for me yet. But it’s not easy or convenient to set that up (i know there are services out there but not sure if they ever took off), so it’s trading one inconvenience for another.
Also i see that TiMSport confessed his love of feet. Wrong thread tho |

The convenience of having a bunch of 5-gallon jugs dropped on the front porch every few weeks certainly beats lugging those 40+ pound monsters home from the store, and believe it or not the price winds up being just about the same.....

I am fairly frugal, but I never have a problem paying for a convenience. If it has to do with my time or having to interact with human beings - almost anything is worth it.
Gas station on the right packed, inside pay only, and 2.50 per gallon yet the one across the road is empty, pay at the pump, and $3.00 per gallon - not even a question. Stores opening a lane that cost 10% more to use, but it is ALWAYS open and super fast? Not even a question. Line at the DMV where you get penalized 50% if you use it and you do not have everything you need with you? Not even a question. I paid all that without a thought - but I routinely talk myself out of a $5 drink because I really don't "need" it. =)

Water delivery, if your tap water is good to begin with have you considered an under sink filter system? We have ne and it is brilliant, cheap as chips too.

I’m weird about the things I will pay for and wont. I pay for lawn service in FL, but that shit has to be mowed practically every week and I have an HOA up my ass if it’s not maintained. I pay $95/mo and he comes every week. Also handles bushes. In NC I dumped the lawn people because it was $80 per MOW if I did twice a month… that’s $160/mo! So got me a riding mower and I enjoy being out there doing that. I think the key is that in NC I can do it whenever the hell I feel like it. No HOA or anyone on my ass to do it. I also enjoy doing small simple projects. Replace light switches, install a new outlet in basement, paint inside. Bigger more complex shit I don’t want anything to do with, especially things that have to be done quickly. Paid to have exterior of house painted because I can’t have it half painted for a month, need extra tall ladders and shit, need to pressure wash and prep… nah. I usually have a lot of time on my hands so I don’t mind doing a lot of stuff myself. I especially like doing easy, but more physical stuff as I pretty much just sit in front of the computer for work. |

BTW, one of the high rises I looked at had mandatory valet parking. If I recall, you had to call the front desk in the morning before work and they'd cue your vehicle in front of the building. Then in the evening just pull up and they'd drive it away for you. It was 24 hr so I'm sure they charged you handsomely for it. Needless to say I passed on it.

Not typical, most charge more. I have been using the same guy since we bought that house in 2011! He told me he was planning to retire in a year or two… I’m already freaking out!
