Wrong...I challenge you to do the research and see how many unused drilling licenses there are right now.

It doesn't matter how many unused licenses they're are when you have an administration completely against the idea of drilling.

HELLO??!?!??!?!?!?!

Read the first line of the article that I posted and tell me again how THIS administration is against drilling. I also think you need to understand what unused drilling licenses are and why they're unused. Start blaming the companies, not your boogeyman.

That's £1.86 a litre for Premium. I paid £1.64 a litre yesterday for 99RON topping up.

I just went to the gas station. Last week it was $4.299 for super in NJ. Just now, $5.099. $78 for 3/4 of a tank. I've said it before, I'll say it again. I truly feel for those less fortunate.

I guess this might be the thing that finally curbs prices on those guzzlers. Not that I will care though, rocking my stock tune N52 and can choose from one of 4 motorcycles that get hybrid like mileage and occasionally ripping your face off.
I predict this will happen sooner than later. I sold my 16 Toyota Tundra less than 1 year ago for a profit, and I expect trucks like that (ie gets 14 mpg no matter what you do) will come down in price after being high all year. While it wouldn't necessarily be the end of the world, I'd be paying $120 every week and a half. And that's for short commuting and nothing else.

As of this morning, gas around me is $4.00 per gallon.

I agree, if you're making $150K+ in most markets (excluding DC, NYC...maybe LA) and are living responsibly, the price of gas is really an optics thing. An extra $100-200/month shouldn't change much. If you're below $75K which is most people, it really hurts, which is sad.

I'm not sure but are a lot of people in here not aware this is a GLOBAL phenomenon and not limited to the U.S.? This is not limited to energy either. I'm willing to bet there are many living across the pond that think we're a bunch of whiny f'n idiots. Truth be told, I wouldn't blame them.

Because people on one side of the aisle want to constantly whine it's the other sides fault for "insert anything."

Both sides do it. That's why so much of the country is apathetic.

theres a lot more to it than just having a permit. this is just the 1st step of many. Its the rest of the steps that are becoming increasingly hard to do under the current administration and with the new wave of "oil is bad". Local permits, federal regulatory permits, financing, land leasing, etc are all other things a company needs to use one of these "unused" permit.

if youre gonna use this as your main counterpoint, you are missing the target.

What we in the US are feeling with rising fuel prices is different from what Europe is feeling. Europe gets a lot of their fuel from Russia, we dont. Their prices are due to the Ukraine/Russia conflict. Our prices are due to policies in the US

No, that is not correct. Fuel prices aren't expensive because they import from Russia. It has always been expensive throughout Europe, especially in countries like Germany (European Union carbon prices). They tax the hell out of fuel over there in order to pay for stuff like much higher quality roads for example. Yes, they also do it to discourage people from driving. BTW, natural gas is the predominant energy supply these countries are importing from Russia.

So in essence, it's not as simple as you're making it to be either.

As the final Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement makes clear, gas prices throughout the United States are primarily driven by GLOBAL MARKET FACTORS. The amount of Western Canada Sedimentary Basin (WCSB) crude that makes its way to the Gulf region does not change this dynamic. Any impact on prices for refined petroleum products resulting from the approval and construction of the Keystone XL pipeline would be minimal.

BUT, it's all speculation on a shortage driving oil profits thru the roof

A 6" Subway cold cut combo sandwich alone cost me $6.79 today. My fauncee coffee that was $4.85 last week was $5.05 today.

Better break out the bike to get to work, save both on fuel and covfefe
