Anyone notice how the FIA President chases photos with pilots?
He cornered Sir Lewis after qually and yelled to Officer Max Emilian Verstappen post race. Strange referee. Is it true, Jos Verstappen zit met Covid-19 thuis op de bank?

Circuit Park Zandvoort
Route length: 4.259 kilometers Number of curves: 14 (4 left, 10 right) Number of rounds: 72 Total distance: 306.648 km Pirelli tires: C1, C2, C3 Distance pole to first braking zone: 247 meters Pit lane length under speed limit: 235 meters (~14 seconds). At 210 meters it is the shortest pit lane on the calendar. At the prescribed speed of 60 km/h, it takes just 12.6 seconds to drive through. Lap record (race): 1m 11.097s (Hamilton, 2021) Top speed: 328 km/h Car setup There are technically demanding sequences that require mechanical grip. Like Turns 3, 11 and 12. Here you need traction from the slow corners. The many fast corners require downforce. A compromise of medium to high level of downforce with larger wings than last time at Spa-Francorchamps. The cars must not be too low for the laps in the dunes because the asphalt isn't flat. For example, there is a nasty bump in the area around turn 6 (Rob-Slotemaker-Bocht). Pirelli supplies the hardest mixtures (C1-C2-C3). At a minimum, teams must inflate the front tire to 23.5 psi. A minimum of 21.5 psi is required for the rear. Most will use to a one-stop strategy. There aren't long straights in Zandvoort. In order to increase the chance of overtaking manoeuvres, the FIA wants to try out in free practice on Friday this year whether the DRS can already be released in the banked target curve so that pursuers can catch opponents over a longer distance. Last year FIA did did not take this risk of a longer DRS zone. The DRS zone only began on the home stretch.

Being FP1 I expect this is an old gearbox, not one that was prepped for race.

They used a very worn out practice gearbox (every team uses a spare gearbox for practice only, then switch to main gearbox for quali+race)
So no penalty, and he should be out and about in FP2. I think Mercedes may be able to snatch some points from Ferrari this race, I think they might be able to end up P3-P4, maybe P2-P3 if Perez isn't looking good for race pace, but realistically P3-P4 for Mercedes.

But considering Max only had 7 laps in FP1 vs other teams 30+, I think FP3 and qualifying will be different. Both Mercedes and Ferrari looks strong on this circuit but it's a high downforce track so it's to be expected.
