don't forget to add $500 to the MSRP for production date March 1 or later.

also, two other new options not on the pricing guide: active seat with lumbar support ($450), Driving Assistant Professional ($1700)

There's an updated guide from September with the newer colors. If I find it, I'll link it.

EDIT: I forgot I saved it to my desktop; but there is definitely another update with the advanced seats and active driving assistant.

Estimated build week is 6th March, delivery estimate w/c 27th March. Not too long to wait if it goes to schedule.

We were lucky enough to steal one of our dealer's build slots on 13 November. VIN allocated and scheduled into production on 21 November. Parked up dock-side at Bremerhaven on 5 December, waiting for a ferry over to the UK. At sea on 16 December. The car arrived at the dealer's premises today and we are booked in for handover next Friday (30 December).

Turns out the car was not on the only transporter that arrived at the dealership yesterday. We might be into the new year for handover now.

how is the payment handled at UK BMW dealers? do you have to get the payment(financing, lease, all-cash, barter or whatever) done before the car actually arrives at the dealership?

Thanks!

Not sure in UK but here still in EU (despite UK is not in EU anymore) you make initial order payment and once hte car is at Dealer the lease can pay the full amount and then its registered and given to customer.

Its not safe to pay for the car before being registered - almost happened to me but i waited a bit and it was for good - as the all PHEV were under STOP SALE for a month and a half and if it was paid my lease would have started without even having a car.The car is still at dealer since beginning of Dec and i should be able to get it first week of Jan (fingers crossed as i dont have a car since we sold our X3 when we were given delivery date )

Thanks!

I believe the arm rest opens in the same direction regardless of where it is destined. This is BMW cost cutting in action. One arm rest to rule them all.

odd that they didn't hinge it at the back like my 328 did. that works for both L/R drive configurations.

it does make me wonder.... if BMW deliberately chose to save a few bucks by cutting corners on something so basic as the armrest lid, what else did they cut in order to save more money? surely not something vital like engine/transmission or electrical parts?

The Japanese spec is basically a euro RHD spec and then some other add-ons for Japan。。yea will be stuck with the same armrest opening issue…

Thanks for sharing your impressions and great images along Supa Koopa Congrats on the beauty!

We wanted to order my wifes iX1 today but couldn‘t get hold of the sales rep and didn‘t receive the call back; so we‘ll wait a few more days on that.

Did you, or some other new owners, get their cars PPF‘d? What other measures did you take to keep the paint protected and have you noticed any weak spots?

Transporters dropped off 18 cars at the dealership yesterday, including ours. Collected this afternoon.

does the UK version of M Sport still come with M Sport suspension, which lower the height by a little?

If it's not too much trouble, can you check to see how many inches(or centimeters) is between that black piece under the front bumper and the ground?

After I test drove the M Sport version, I drove forward into the parking spot in front of the dealer. That black plastic piece bent and slightly ripped when it made contact with the concrete parking block(like the one in the 2nd picture). That seem kind of odd to me. I went to to the dealer in my friend's Mercedes C300 sedan and was parked in the same spots. The C300's front cleared that parking block with no issues until the front tires made contact.

Not sure if it was because the X1 had 4 people in it at the time?(me and my friend in the front, the salesman and a "trainee" salesman in the back) The salesman said nothing, but I kind of felt guilty about it. (not to mention the fact that they sold that demo X1 a couple of weeks later)

Thanks!
