If you check their post history: often quick-posting (within minutes) several banal comments in several threads (a typical pattern of SEO spammers or scammers increasing their post count).

But technically not yet a violation of forum rules. Minimal chance that those are legit, but not excluded.

I have also seen this behavior from new users who want PM access for classifieds purchases/scams, as well as needing to PM in a few notorious map/coding piracy threads.....

I'm talking about the posts that are spam in the making. Joined current month, 0 posts, 0 rep points. They are promoting something but haven't put the link in yet. Report or wait for link? Sometimes I loose track of them.

He referenced examples: some might be legit, some apparently not. What you are promoting is a face control in fact: no allowance without posting you flowers first. Say, if you keep the stupid off the OT it will die (as not so stupid seem thrown out of that reservation regularly).

You can fix that. Some spammers do get rep points before their "appreciated" spam is cleared. Just for example: in the "listening to a song" thread there was a newbie's well appreciated post of porn links (I believe the appreciated link was replaced later. Perhaps. ).

When you report you seem to still attract a moderator to decide. Just put a clear message what you are reporting it for: sometimes they seem to miss the point. When you overcome his welcome he'll ban you: he warned about that before. A neighbor thread just recently had a potential spam vote waiting a few days for my approval : I couldn't decide until the link was injected. The post went off immediately.

Don't worry: they'll find you. They might need to find themselves first, though: I've just checked a couple (pending almost 2 and 4 months respectively) - no spam and not even banned yet!

There are times that I regret looking at the post history of SEO spambots, because they frequently lead to threads with more SEO spambot posts that have not been reported yet...and then more threads and more SEO spambots...like a never-ending dirty snowball! I spent the better part of an hour today chasing spammers just by starting with one new spam post. Ugh!!!!!

I just can't help suggesting this visualization of the epic battle between (in order of appearance) Esteban, vreihen16, M5Rick, cmyx6go and them evil ones, the spammers.

By the way, even though the lady's fists look nowhere as convincing/conditioned as Bruce Lee's (whom she mimicks in the "Way/Return Of The Dragon" movie), it's still amazing.
