Especially for me since it has to go to the West Coast (US). 😬

Yeah would have been easier just to send it through the Earth’s core. 🤣

No kidding. It’s (almost) a shame that I didn’t want an X3 because the time in transit would have been so much more speedy!

The new X3 just seems a step backward from the last one. A shame really.

100% agree. Even if it wasn’t bigger than I wanted, I still would have passed on it. The interior plastics felt really cheap to me. I could deal with the tail lights that I don’t like if I hadn’t hated the interior so much. The M50 did drive well though. I did like that I could get ventilated seats and actual leather, but it’s just so much larger than I wanted. The smaller cars are easier to deal with on busy streets and parking lots.

This is what I had planned to get along until I actually saw one in person. I suppose it would have grown on me, but being the new model not only was I not sure about it overall, but it might also suffer from various things that will be worked out after a year in the real world. No guinea pig here, been there and done that.

My dealer had a ton of '24 X3 30s, but after driving one it seemed like I was in a larger version of my current 330 but yet slower and more lumbering. Nothing exciting at ALL. I'm sure the M340 would have been great but they didn't have one to test and its interior is kind of out of date...though the new one seems too different, I just don't know. None of them really seemed great and until my kids are off my payroll I can't get something like the X3 M50, which performance-wise would probably make up for the styling. I was really bummed out as I just do not want another super low-slung sedan right now, and then I saw the X1/X2 M35s.

My x1 M35 arrived in Baltimore Tuesday, so I hope it will make its way to Ohio soon. Maybe next week . I'm excited for sure.

Oops, I meant an X3 M50. The power was nice and the ride and transmission felt so smooth, but I just can’t get over the size. Our dealership didn’t have any 2024 X3s (in early November) because I guess they sold all of them to people who didn’t like the redesign on the 2025.

My husband has an M340i so my brain and fingers were get all mixed up. 😬 If he didn’t have a sedan, I probably would have picked a M240i for myself rather than a small SUV or SAC. We need something that can actually carry more stuff. Heh.

I’m ordering a MY26 M240. Can’t wait. But she needed a vehicle because her Wrangler crapped the bed.

Ahhh!! I was so tempted that I actually wrote a pro/con list so I could (repeatedly) visually talk myself out of it. LOL. I would have ordered one in Thundernight Metallic. The dealership had somebody picking up their order for a 230 in the same color and I just about fell over.

Bummer about the Wrangler. That was one of the cars I’ve always been semi-obsessed with dating all of the way back to when I was 16. Ha.

Her Jeep went in the shop and they’ve been waiting on a part for 4 months now. Can’t even drive it. She’s had loaner after loaner. She finally got fed up and she wanted either a BMW or Audi. She fell in love with the X1 in Blue Bay Lagoon with the M Performance Package.

As for the M240i, I originally wanted Thundernight but I may go with Vegas Red. Still undecided.

Her Jeep is beautiful. Just wish it wasn’t so unreliable. (see last pic).

Wow! She’s got a thing for fun colors on cars, huh? My last 2 Subarus were silver and dark grey, and my X2 is Skyscraper Grey. I am boring, but I can drive the Portimao blue car should I feel the need to rock the color. lol. That’s pretty sucky that’s it’s been sitting for so long. At least she’ll have her new car soon.

I don’t think there’s really a bad choice between Thundernight and Vegas Red. If I was going to do a color, those are the 2 I’d most seriously consider. I did briefly consider Storm Bay too.

indeed - I've had four X3 M40i's (two 2019, and two 2022) and loved them... before that I had two x5's (wife had two 5 series) and felt the X3's were "better" in every way except one ... I still miss the split tailgate.

I tried to order 2 of the last 2024 X3's back in June but even though the online configurator was still up they told me "BMW rep confirmed that new 2024 X3 M40 ordering was ‘locked out’ from all dealers being able to place new 2024 M40 orders…it’s too close to the factory re-tooling next month for the new 2025"

I love the looks of the X1 - just praying it doesn't feel like too much of downgrade.

ps. I love the M240i as well and was torn on ordering it - very close in price

Her loaner doesn’t have the heads up display. Also, she likes the X1 infotainment much better than the iDrive 7. Feels so dated already.

I’m kinda jealous about the actual concealed armrest space! Maybe the open area won’t be as annoying as I think it will be, but I guess we will see when my car arrives.
